This is my first El Camino, acquired it in May of 2003. A 76 Classic, 350/350 crate motor with the Vtech style heads , 350TH trans. I bought this one from someone in Oregon, had it delivered to me in Cali. Terrorized the streets of Cali' in it and drove it to florida. It ran great and still runs great. I warmed the motor over a little bit.
OUCH!! Put my ride into a ditch in August 03.

I did all this work in the parking lot of my apartment complex! It was difficult having to go back and forth from my apartment to the car with parts and tools, good thing I lived on the bottom floor. I turned my small fenced in porch into a paint booth to for my parts. Didn't catch too much grief from the apartment managment too, just kept my stuff cleaned up.
This was my first car show. May 7th, 2005. I entered the 76 in the Trucks thru 76 Modified, and went home with second place. I was stoked!

The car show was in benifit of the Marine Corps Toys for Tots. I volunteered in the setup and teardown of show, so my Squadron paid my entry fee for both rides.
I've been doing all the body, bondo, and paint myself. This my first time attempting any type of body work. I know nothing of it, so this has been a long learning process! And I'm still not done!
The 76 is off to the shop to have my new floor pans welded in along with a couple of other patch spots in there. I'm having the center brace that the seat mounts to in the floor moved back a few inches to allow me to have the seat set back as far as the rear windshield, wich is going to take some extra work for the weld crew. Gotta have lots of room for this 6'3" stud!!

Got the ride back with the new floor pans in.
I'm cutting out the rear wall, setting in some seam sealer in the rear compartment, along with some coating.
I want to weld in a plate from the edge of that compartment in the truck bed up to the base of the rear windshield. I want to have space to either set in a sound system or just a bigger storage area than that little two foot wide plastic bin that was in there.

And, done....well for now.

This is my template for the sheet metal I need to weld in. Will be coming soon.
Sound deadener laid in. Got the carpet in the box there.
Nasty 'ol seat inbound for an upholstery visit.

Almost done with paint. the doors will be the last of the paint.

New rear suspension. New Air shocks and air lines, springs, and poly bushings.

Just installed an Edelbrock performer RPM air gap intake, a Holley Street HP 650cfm double pumper carb, and a real nice kickdown cable, throttle cable, and bracket from Lokar. I highly recommend the Lokar cable setup to anyone. Easy to install, looks great, and easy adjusting!

The BADNESS!

Got the seat padded and reupholstered, sittin here in the back of the truck.

Got the new carpet laid in.
And me cuttin some sheet metal for the new rear wall.
Got it all cut out and ready to weld in.
