The OEM system in the Kia is a very run of the mill deal for a minivan. A double DIN AM/FM/CD/Cassette deal in the dash powering door speakers, dash speakers and rear speakers. Nothing to write home about which is why there are plans for changes.
I decided early on that while a nice CD player would be the first step in many installs, the car already has a relatively nice unit that doesn't attract too much attention so it would stay. I would use a Scosche interface adaptor to get it to play nice with the amplfiers downstream.
