Blackout Window Trim For Your Nissan Maxima (00-01)
Applicable to all vehicles

makdaddy386's 2000 Nissan Maxima

Tools Needed:
-Razor Blade
-Alcohol Swab or Other Cleaning Agent

Before You Start:
For this quick and simple project the stuff that you will need is called "Blackout Tape" and it is manufactured by a company called TrimBrite. You can obtain it through any number of online dealers or you can buy it through a local Pep Boys. The part number for this piece is T9005 and it can be found on Trimbrite.com.

You can be the judge for yourself. There is really no instruction for this process other than clean first with alcohol, then stick on tracking along over the chrome, then cut excess with razor and voila...enjoy your new found beauty.

Make sure to let dry for around 48 hrs before washing or any sort of abrasive action.

Note: Heat from the sun will shrink the tape about a sixteenth to an eigth of an inch so please account for this while trimming. To immediately shrink and adhere fully you can use a heat gun over the tape once done.

Thanks for the incredibly detailed write-up! The only thing I messed up was over-tightening the nut on the starter's electrical connection. Sheared it off because it is soft copper. The parts shop gave me a once-per-lifetime, free "lesson learned" replacement. That's one advantage to a buying from a family-owned, local shop. Had to do the whole remove/install over but now I'm an expert!

ok. my second post about the starter replacement tutorial. I got up early this morning new starter, tools and these directions in hand. Dude, I never could have done it without your directions. Took all the guess work out. Only problem was mine had ABS and the ABS box is right in front of the big 14mm bolt so it took a lot more time and patience than it should have, but everything went off without a hitch. Thank you again man. You've given me hope for future repairs on my vehicle.

Dude your tutorial on how to install a starter is incredible. I never thought I would find such a great step-by-step and illustrated write up on how to undertake such a task. You saved me tons of money. That's for being such a great asset.
