P R O J E C T   V6KR ! !

-ALWAYS MORE TO COME!!

THE ENGINE IS IN THE CAR! So last week my hard drive expoded and I lost everything so updates are taking longer. I will have pics posted soon. Had I not started school yesterday I would have had the car running this week, so expect that within a couple weeks.

Here's the project. I'm taking my stock 3.8L Mustang engine and turning it into a supercharged/forged 4.2L stroker. I will be dropping in a 4.2L F-150 crank to increase the stroke to 3.74". On the crank will be forged Eagle H-Beam rods with ARP bolts and Diamond forced induction dished pistons. I will be using a 214/214 .502" 112 Isky Racing camshaft and ported/polished heads, plenums, intake manifold and blower case. I'm also using LS6 vlave springs and larger LS4 vlaves (8mm stems, each valve is 11g lighter and 0.100" bigger). The block bores will just be getting cleaned, I did not increase the bore d size due to the pistions I have. I'm using the M90 roots blower off of a Super Coupe Thunderbird which I will be setting up for around 11+ psi. Starting off with a 10% overdrive blower pulley. I have seen similar setups run 400HP and 465FT/LBS. My power goal is simply 400+FT/LBS at the wheels. Some other modifications I'm making are a high performance ZOOM clutch, short throw shifter, Ford Racging read differential with 3.73 gears, water to air intercooler, high output fuel pump and will be tuning to run on E-85 with TwEECer PCM tuning software and data logging. There is always a lot more to come and this is where you'll find it!

These were actually a clearance item so they are not stocked by Diamond anymore. These pistons were for a 3.8 Buick. If you go into a catalog for a piston company look for a piston that matches the specs you are looking for(bore, compression height, pin bore...), not necessarily the application.

Do you have a oart number on those pistons or are they custom spec? I'm going to be building a 4.2 but I'm haveing trouble finding forged pistons without buying a whole kit.

Would love an m112, but I'm not cutting a hole in my hood to make it fit...
