Well, since I just got promoted on 16 June 2005, the wife has known for the last 11 years we've been married that I have always yearned for a new bike.

Today (20 June 2005) I went down to the local Kawasaki dealer and did some wheelin' and dealin'.

Ahh, here's a few pics. I've started the polishing phase on the bike. This will take awhile but I'll post updates as it progresses.

Here's a pic of the frame cover I just polished. Lookin' good.

Just got a carbon fiber front fender for it. Found it on Ebay. Yep, it is indeed carbon fiber. The shape is alright (not perfect), fit is decent too, a little rough cut but unless you're paying top dollar, it's to be expected w/ carbon fiber. I only had to slightly elongate one mounting hole about 1/16" to get the holes to line up.

Overall, I guess I'm satisfied for what I paid ($90 shipped). I s'pose that's the difference between this one and the $250 ones I've seen, but an OK purchase in the end.

Updated pics 10 October 2005. I believe I've gotten every bolt polished I can easily get to, the clutch cable bracket, and other minors:

Painted the side covers and radiator covers black to match the rest of the bike:

Added a "Full Throttle" energy drink can to the starter:
