Where I'm Headed:
Where I'm at:
Heres my '03 Land Rover Freelander SE3. I bought this vehicle from Land Rover of Frisco Texas as a certified used car so I get a pretty good extended warranty. unfortunately this will also drive what changes I can make to the vehicle without voiding its warranty. Im looking to make this thing sort of like a crossover SUV but without sacrificing too much of the offroad capabilities.
Ive been driving the SE3 around for a couple of weeks now with the top off but it has started to get too hot out and so the hardtop goes back on. I do have a "shower cap" for the freebie but it doesnt have rear or side windows so driving around with it is less than ideal. guess im going to have to invest in a soft top for it.
Mods: First and foremost the 17" trispoke wheels have gotta go so im looking for some 20 x 8.5 wheels with 35mm offset and 255/35-20 tires
To go along with the new wheels and tires im tracking down a set of Eibach Pro-Kit Springs
Other Items:
B&B Performance Cold Air Intake (assuming it is truely a cold air intake)
Freeflow catalytic converter and muffler
Powerchip performance ECU
HID Xenon headlights and side marker lights
Land Rover fog light kit
Headlight and tail light guards
Rubber mat for cargo area
loadspace cover
Drawtite 2" reciever hitch and wiring kit
bike rack for 2" hitch
The existing Harmon Kardon sound system is pretty good for a factory stereo so im planning on doing some mods to it to get the best sound possible from it:
DYNOMAT around speaker locations
install 100uf capacitor on the positive leads of the door speakers
isolate the doors map pockets from the door skin with RTV and weather stripping
remove the plastic baffle from the factory subwoofer and replace with polyfil or insulation
Down the road I may look at replacing the factory speakers with some component speakers, doing a custom subwoofer install in the cargo area, and replacing the headunit with a cd/dvd player with a flip up screen and a navigation system
oh yeah cant forget my Yeti FRO :)
Cheers!!
