After a long awaited debate, I have settled on a color for the truck! I love how it turned out, and believe it or not, I did it myself for $150. The paint is a Rustoleum type Oil based Enamel. Though I didn't have a rusty truck, it was choosen as a very durable paint! I applied the primer and yellow base with a FOAM ROLLER! You want a good looking paint job for little $$? Check out ROLL YOUR CAR and you can see for yourself how simple it is! It's catching on like WILDFIRE! See the progress and outcome here. I plan on putting a clear coat on it to give it a luster:

hey i currently have a 99 4Runner and im a 4Runner FANATIC, and now I am looking to get a project 1st gen 4Runner. I know a crapload about the 3rd gen, but not much at all about the 1st gen. First of all, after you got the 5 inch lift, did you have to reshape the front fenders or did you do it just because?

Nice work, if you have any advice on a color, please let me know im doing it on my 69 mustang as soon as the temperature here warms up over 50. I want either, flat black, gloss black, orange, or red. Let me know what you think. Thanks

Sweet lookin truck! Its good to see another person have good luck with a rusto/roll on job! Looks great! I'm actually planning on doing the exact thing on my '74 Charger except in a dark green. And for all the rest of you out there lookin to save money look up [New Paint job on a budget thread] on moparts.com. Its crazy what some of these guys have done with a little rustoleum or brightside paint and a roller!
