VAZ 21011

as to the mods,

originally my car had a 1.3 l, 69 hp
I rebuilt my engine to 1.7 l by increasing pistons' stroke and diameter.
400cc shold add about 15-20hp.
i achieved this by adding a lada-samara 82'pistons,
a lada-niva krankshaft
and tuning 129mm connecting-rods made by lada specialy for engines like mine.
+
i added a solex carbureator from lada-niva 4x4 1.7, which is to be upgraded along with the intake
+an electronic ignition for 2101-21011 motor.

also i have a 5-speed tranny from lada 2107/lada-niva but it needs an expencive repairment, so i'll put my old 4-speed gearbox back on the car, or try to buy another 5-speed tranny.

the rearend of my car was much higher than the frontend, so i cut the rear springs and now it is on the same level

my car is now completely restored. some new pictures of it(more to come).

i could'n find an embemm saying "lada 1700"))

some pictures taken during the last two years:

COOOOOLDDD!!!)))

you may see the black lisence plates on my car. such plates were used in Soviet Union in 60s and 70s. in the 80s they were replaced by white plates like on my volvo. right now newly-registered cars get license like on my daewoo.
my 21011 was registered just once, in 1976 and therefore had the plates since then. in october i had to change them though.

A new paintjob and a second mirror on the right side (it was rather hard to get the original mirrors)

some information:
It is a "classic lada" as it is called now or an RWD lada but there is no such subgroup on the domain. I desided to put it under "Lada Niva" subgroup because the first nivas have an engine and gearbox similar to classic lada. they have same exterior and interior parts as well, so they are very close models.
this VAZ 21011 was bought new by my grandfather in 1976. he loved this car very much and always payed great attantion to the vechile. the car stood in the garage for 11 years (1994-2005) because of my grampa's illness :( only in 1997 grampa let my father to drive the car for the summer season but then locked it in the garage again, this time for 8 years. finally, in 2005 grampa desided to get the car out of the garage. I took it))
after the first month of use I had many things to repair(they appeared because of 11 years in the garage) and now the car is just fine. I put all the missing moldings back on and made a new paintjob which unfortunately was needed. the exterior now is original exept for the second mirror on the right side (originally 21011s had just one mirror). plus, i put chromed ventilation grills from lada 2103 (21011s had them painted black). in 2006 my grandfather died, so this vehicle is a kind of memory:(

I planned to leave the interior stock, so i hided all the music devices. only the tweeters are seen

please, check out two other cars in my garage! :)
