Welcome to my Mitty 2006 page! I Drove the Mighty Z-car up to the 2006 Mitty in Road Atlanta! It was about 950 miles each way and the Z did great, no problems. The Mitty was really fun, I drove up from South Florida and my Brother drove down from Kentucky and we enjoyed three days of historic car racing and other activities. Check out the pictures below!
Here is my me and my Little Bro in front of the Mighty Z in the paddocks.
A shot of the Z before a touring lap of the track. The Z race cars were averaging about 130 mph around the track but we drove it on the touring laps at around 60 mph.
A shot of the Z waiting for a parade lap which is slower than a touring lap but it is free to drive, and you dont go as fast.
Just another picture of my Mighty Z-car.
The event was in GA so there were a bunch of Z-cars from the GA Z-car Club. These guys were great, really friendly and made us feel really welcome (thanks guys!).
Kumho Tires also sponsored three BMW Mini's that you could autocross. We each drove about three times. It was a fun distraction, my Brother is pictured autocrossing this Mini.
Lotus also had three Elis's to autocross. We only did this once because of the long line but it was a bunch of fun. My Brother is pictured here driving the yellow one!
Here are the Z race cars. Very cool!

When my Brother and I did the touring and parade laps we took some pictures from the track. The pace car was a Mazda RX8 and controlled the speed. There was no passing but it was really cool to get to see the track as the race car drivers saw it (only a little slower but fast enough to lose your hat!).

There were other race cars at the Mitty that were not Z's, but I dont hold that against them! They were still really cool, really fast, and really loud. I really liked the Jag's and got my picture in front of them, Hemmingway's is a really great restaurant that we hve been to lots of times.

I was surfing around on the internet and someone on classiczcars got a great shot of me and my little bro driving on a touring lap. This was the famed lap where the Adidas hat was sacrificed to the Road Atlanta gods!
