Some history on my Mighty Z-car the best I could pull together from the two previous owners (thanks Jon and Danny!). My Z was one of the last 500 280Z's manufactured (build date 5/78) and shipped to the U.S. (the 1978 280z was the last year of first generation Z's, only sold in the US and nowhere else in the world, 62,699 of these Z's were built). It was purchased by the first owner in November 1978 brand new off of the showroom floor of DeBrecht Imports in South St. Louis for $9,200. It was used as a daily driver from 1978 until 1993. In 1990 it recieved a respray of the original color and a new power antenna. It recieved new brakes and a new clutch in 1992. Maintenance on the Z had been good and replacement itens included clutch master cylinder, plugs, wires, distributor/rotor and the fuel pump. My future Z was then stored in a garage from 1993 until the second owner purchased it in October 2004. The second owner stored it in his driveway in Chicago until I picked it up in April 2005.
Road trip in the Z from West Palm Beach to Sarasota, Florida (about a 4 hour drive).
Here is the Mighty Zcar at a boat launch ramp in the everglades along Alligator Alley.
Behind the wheel of the Z. Everything ran smoothly although compared to todays Nissans it is primitive with very few creature comforts (I wouldnt trade it though!).
A birds-eye-view of the Z in Sarasota, not a typical view.
A veiw of the Z and the Gulf of Mexico at a small park.
This is a picture for all of you mid-westerners. I have been on I-75 from damned near the U.P. to South Miami and spent LOTS of time on this Interstate in between. This is the ONLY road sign I have ever seen that shows I-75 running East-West instead of North-South.
Back on the east coast of Florida...
Everyone loves a ride in the Z ... but none more than Z-Mom! We took the Z out for coffee on one of my Mom's recent visits to South Florida.
Mans best friend...
After I got back from an autocross, our puppy, Indy, helped me unload the Z. Now if I could just train him to fetch me beers...
The Z has spent lots of time on the jackstands in my garage this year. I really missed driving old Rusty so what started as a quick spin around the block turned into a 2 hour cruize down A1A and I stopped and took some pictures along the way...

A shot of right before Rusty went under the knife for new and improved brakes - i just really like this shot - probably one of my favorites. The rear 1/4 is also a good one.
Took the Z down to the edge of development in Boca Raton (the levees on the edge of the Everglades). It was a nice drive and I thought I could get some good shots of the Z. I was right!

The South Flrida Z Car Club had a meet in Boca, so I took Rusty for a spin to see what other Z's would show up. There was a great turnout of Z-cars. Lots of 350Z's, maybe 35. Five or six 300Z's. No 300 or 280ZXs. And I had the only first-gen Z. The Orange 2007 Z was really cool, and I was glad that siver 350Z's parked on either side of me so I could get some "old vs new" pictures. If I am going to put my hood up at events, I really need to clean it up under there!

The South Florida Z Car Club had a meet at the local Nissan dealership. There was a really good turnout and people seemed to have fun. There were food and drinks, and a raffle (I won a free car detailing). Good time. Enjoy the pictures.

I like to cruise around in the mornings along the beach before it gets too hot (South Florida + July - AC = HOT), I get some good shots once in a while. Enjoy!
My little buddy, Indy, wanted to go for a ride, but it was a little too hot...maybe in October!

Fun weekend for a cruise, quiet but hot, right on par for August. Went up to West Palm Beach.
