Even better was the fact that it had the 352 V8 Intercepter and 3-speed Cruise-o-matic transmission. After I rebuilt the carb and got it running OK, I found reverse didn't work so well, but the three forward gears shifted smoothly. A transmission flush and band adjustment took care of that.I then rebuilt the starter as well as the generator, and had a new core put in the radiator. But one of the exhaust manifolds was cracked, there were oil leaks, and I wanted a totally reliable car to drive and take to shows, so the engine was next.......A friend and I pulled the 352 in his shop, and I took it to a machine shop for a total rebuild.
With the engine out and being rebuilt, I completely cleaned and detailed the engine compartment.
A few weeks later..... Solid lifters and all! Another pal of mine powder-coated some select engine components to set it off.
And back in she goes.........
