Getting Rid of Rust
After realizing that putting bondo over rust patches does absolutely nothing....it was time to break out that ol' sander and sand away all that bondo!
That took a good 18 hours of work. Bondo was just ment to last.

I went to my local autoparts store and got a "Rust Preventer and Inhibitor". As it dried, it turned black...didn't too great on the Cavalier!

Oh well, we had finally beaten the rust in its tracks. Dane and I were proud of ourselves, and what we had done for the car. It didnt look too great to anyone else
, but we didn't care.
(FYI thats my dads 99 civic thats on the bottom of the picture)
For the hell of it, we sanded away a patch of the rust inhibitor to see if it was working... (we sanded the car down to baremetal. There shouldnt have been anymore rust). We saw that the rust had come back after a few weeks, and it was pretty bad!

Was my prize possesion doomed forever to rust?!
(Since this picture, I bought a centerpiece for that back rim. 4 of them came to $20 on ebay.)
