Infinity Basslink

The goal was to add some bass without spending too much money. Infinity Basslinks on e-bay are under $225. Another $20 in supplies, and we were ready. (I just couldn't get myself to pay the extra for the BavAuto.com plug-n-play package, with Dave being so willing and able to wire it up for us!)

Dave Clement took the wiring information from www.bmwtips.com and we tapped into the wires above the amp in the trunk. He hooked up the power and ground near the battery.

Middle red wire is the one he added. Black ground wire connects to the blue nut/bolt.

mhwong's 2000 BMW 7-Series I ran the remote wire under the back seat, along the drivers side door sills, under the drivers seat, then under the center console. The remote control is attached to my www.cup-holders.com cup holder.

Since I dont have the ski bag option, I punched the hole out. A few taps on a hammer and a chisel from the inside, and it came off nice and clean. I experimented with different speaker positions, and both with and without the trunk liner in place. Aiming the speaker towards the back of the car seemed best and I removed the insulation in the center of the trunk liner, but left it intact. Some gray speaker grille cloth over a plastic frame cleans up the rough edges from the inside, while the center arm rest flap hides most of it anyway.

The initial install took about three hours, plus I took some extra time on the remote volume control and the ski bag hole.

Not bad for an inexpensive solution! Thanks for the assistance, Dave!
