The stock tape/CD double DIN, speakers, speaker baffles were all removed.

A Panasonic CQ-DF301 is the source unit, and above it I have constructed a control panel from MDF with the following functions:

- Fuse for remote amp turnon wire
- Fuse for head unit
- Combination switch for manual alarm disarm
- Remote amp turnon reset
- AUX (spare switch)
- Fog lights
- Voltage meter

The front doors were soundproofed with one 1.5Kg sheet of Barium loaded soundproofing sheet each, and baffles built for the Kicker Impulse 5.25" component mids from 0.25" MDF. The Crossovers are mounted either side of the center console in the footwells, and tweeters mounted on swivel brackets on the kick panels.

Polk EX-693 full range coaxials are drop-in for factory parcel shelf locations.

Audioline AL-4200 and AL-2300 amps are on a platform of 0.75" carpeted MDF which is securely braced to the trunk floor. The first amp supplies 100WRMS to each of the front splits, and the second amp is bridged to give the sub 300WRMS. The Coax are run off the head unit.

A 2.1cf ported enclosure with 32Hz tuned port was constructed out of 0.75" MDF. It is the home for a 12" Kicker F12 Freeair. This gives good ambience and is low reaching down to 37Hz before it hits -3dB. This is secured by 8 bolts and thick metal brackets to a 0.75" false floor. The spare tyre is taken out.

US manufactured security system features dual-stage microwave and shock sensors, 2 point immobiliser, twin external battery backup siren, internal screamer siren, remote start.

I'm happy with this system especially having spent only $2000AUD, and it has great balance but also pushes some good low frequency response. I won't be looking at adding any more to this system until I move onto my next car.

Cosmetics include high intensity blue LEDs mounted flush in the kick panels to highlight the footwells, and also in the trunk to light the amps/sub.

Nothing has been done to the engine except the removal of factory air intake restrictions. Suspension has been lowered 2"/1.5" F/R with variable rate shock/springs, and has polyurethane bushes on lower control arms and rear trailing arm. Semi-metallic Bendix brake pads are in the front. Handling is very tight =).

Car photos coming soon! For now check out the system diagram.
