1973 Plymouth Valiant 4 Door Sedan Slant 6 cylinder 225. These are photos of the car before and after Deb wrecked on July 12, 2005. We bough the car in June 2004 in Mishawaka, IN for $2500.

Wanted: I am looking for a solid rust free 1973 Plymouth Valiant, 4 door sedan, 6 cylinder, prefer dark brown with white vinyl top. Willing to to pay decent price for car in decent shape, does not need to be show car. Needs to be set up for 6 cylinder engine and automatic transmission. Does not need to have engine or transmission. I am located in Elkhart, Indiana. Would like to find vehicle in close proximity to Indiana, Ohio, Michigan (LP), or Illinois. Vehicle needs to have clear title, and never wrecked.
Please, email me if you have any details to help me in my elusive search.
Well, until July 12, 2005. We had a beautiful 1973 Plymouth Valiant 4 Door Sedan 6 cylinder until Deb on her way home not even a few blocks away from the house; was front-ended when she thought it was green and the others decided to stop for a red light. It was in the process of being worked on, and we recently spent $1980.00 for repairs for the complete front end, motor mounts, tie-rods, ball joints, hoses, belts, brake lines, brake adjusters, everything needed to make this vehicle road worthy and safe, including brakes (ha-ha). The damage is limited to the frame which holds the bumper, the console support for the radiator, the grill is cracked, the bumper bent up, both fenders damaged. The fenders were perfect and original and rust free. We had bought this car a year ago with 45000 original miles for $2500.00. It now has 59,000 miles. It has a new starter, alternator, battery, tuneup, fly wheel-torque converter $385.00. The inner fenders were also crunched inward at the front (still useable I guess), the hood also now has two minor creases. We intend to park the car and look for another, or I am thinking about selling it as a parts car. We are currently looking at another vehicle, but it does not hold the charm of the Valiant. I have owned various "old cars" for a majority of my life; 1978 Chevy Malibu 2 Door, a 1966 Buick Skylark 4 Door Hardtop, 1967 AMC Ambassador, 1969 Buick 2 Door Hardtop, 1970 1/2 Ford Falcon, 1974 Dodge Camper Van. But I liked the Valiant most of all. As always I am a day late, and a dollar short, I saw the ad for the Valiant in Maryland-Lynda, and it "SOLD" for $1000.00. I have searched e-Bay (but most of the cars are far away - there is a tan 1973 Valiant 4 door in Texas, but it is the added cost of shipping it to Elkhart), classic car trader, old car trader, buzz trader ads, deals n wheels, auto round up, and every possible online car magazine searching for a Valiant. So, I am looking for a vehicle to salvage all the parts I had installed on our Valiant. Luckily, we were smart enough to have insurance on our Valiant, but as you know since we did not have it appraised. We probably did not get what we should have gotten from the insurance company. But, we think it fair enough to help us buy another vehicle, and have enough to possible find another Valiant to restore. If anyone is interested in seeing photos, e-mail me. As I stated, we may consider just selling it off as a parts car. I feel the car is well worth the cost of the new parts alone plus all the added items one could salavge to restore another 1973 Valiant. But for now I would like to find another 1973 Valiant 4 Door. Oh, I forgot.... NO GREEN CARS!!!
We wound up buying a 1972 Plymouth Valiant that was located in
Rochester, IN. We paid $2100.00 for it.
So, I ended up stripping the 1973 and selling off parts that I didn't want. I made over $1500.00. I salvaged all the recent new parts, and they are going on the 1972.
Here's a last look at the 1973. I still have to remove the hood, trunk lid, and the engine block.
