this is my 1951 ford f-1 its got a flathead 6 in it

i am thinking a 302 or a 390 for a motor
as you can tell ive got alot of work to do 
update i just bought a 97 ranger frame for it has indipendent front suspension

and i just got my welder in so now i can start cutting everything off it.

It might be easier to box the front frame rails and use a mustang, pacer, xj6, dakota IFS under it I just helped a buddy put a mustang clip under his 55 and it took a weekend. I don't know but that seems easier then swapping a frame.

You have to chop it!!!!!!! A 2" chop would fit it very well. I have noticed that if you go with a 4" chop it looks better when you cut about 4 to 5 inches out of the front of the box and section the frame to match. I like to keep mine period correct I put a 3" dropped and streched axle in mine with 3" drop springs in the front and 3" drop springs with flipped shakles in the rear.

dont chop it man!!! looks better unchopped!! just restore the body/panelwork as it is and stick some nice big shiny chrome wheels under it. use the newer chassis and engine and that for sure, just dont chop it.

sweet truck man even though im not a ford guy i would definately drive that thing. you got great plans for it, its gonn be a nice truck. check out my muscle cars sometime
