This is a 1976 Oldsmobile 442. It was one of the very few (143) that came with the 455 engine. This 442 was chosen by Oldsmobile Division in Lansing, Michigan to represent the year 1976 in the Oldsmobile Centennial Parade along with a 1976 Toronado and a 1976 Delta 88. More details on this car can be seen at: the 1973-1977 Cutlass Registry

She has every available factory option except, Air, Vinyl roof and Twilight Sentinel. I had a 1977 442 but sold it and picked up a 1976 Corvette Stingray L82 4-Spd.

The 1976 442 has a 3.42 posi rear end with a W27 cover. It has a W455 Aluminum intake manifold and W30 exhaust manifolds. Other notable mentions: Swivel buckets, Hurst Dual-Gate Shifter, Hurst Digital Tach, the NASCAR rear deck spoiler (as this body style was used by NASCAR from 1977-81.

The engine has been rebuilt (with Oldsmobile parts so it looks stock, but it produces enough horsepower and torque to do 0-60 mph in 5.92 and the quarter mile in 13.96 @ 103 mph. I've had the car since the late 70's and have driven it across Canada and the USA three times each. Thanks for stopping by.

In July 2005 I visited Cloverdale, BC where the television show "Smallville" is filmed. I parked the 442 in front of the "Talon" but it was the off season and I didn't see "Clark", "Lois" or "Lana"."

Just added an Outside Air Induction hood- now to paint it (see page 2)
