The feature that attract me to the Leone (or L Series as it's called here in Australia) is the versatiltiy of being a 4WD and a smaller passenger car.

I bought the car in 2003 and it was VERY standard. It was also a DL. I have put nearly every Touring Wagon option into it (instrument cluster, seats, intertior lights, door handles, etc). The only things it does not have is power windows and carpets (neither of which I plan to add)

In 2005, I changed to a Full Time 4WD box - which is rare than hen's teeth in Australia. It performs great on and offroad. Has been on the beach, Fraser and Moreton Island - and also on a few great mud tracks.

In the near future, I am looking at putting a snorkel on it (been upgrading the air intake for this very purpose) and replacing the EA82 engine. I see no need for an EJ motor - my car goes where I point it.

It's sitting a tad low at the rear in some pictures because of the weight of me and my two friends' camping gear

I am extremely keen to get into the 4WDing and even more keen for it to be in a Subaru wagon....do you know much about them? i wanna know. when looking into buying one, should the amount of KM's it has done, affect the buy? cos nearly all of them have done ridiculous amounts...but i know with some cars, it doesnt matter cos they just keep going well! whats ya thoughts? cheers for ya time Jason

Man, thats the most beautifull L-series Ive seen so far. I had a DL and I loved it. Bought it for 600Euro and drove it for four years. Never had any trouble. The L-series have a lot of character unlike the good but boring Legacys. Greetings from Germany.
