My Camaro is a 1971 Rally Sport, Super Sport. It is a real Norwood Z27 SS RS car. I have technically owned this car since I was 13. Many of you will think I do not deserve to have this car, but, I worked very hard for almost 5 yrs to get it! It does not look like much now... but it will soon enough! When I bought the car, I was under the influence of it being a numbers matching car, that was not true. In fact it has a 1972 replacement L48 SS 350 engine, and the original TH350 transmition. We had been told that it might have been ran without oil, so we tore the engine apart. In fact it was blown. I heard a story from a guy at a local cruse night that the owners wife/girlfriend drove it last and might have blown the engine. She or someone did alright! They spun the rod bearings, cracked the pistons, warped/broke all of the rings, milled down the crank with the spun bearings, broke almost every valve spring, dropped one valve, and knocked the skirts off most pistons. To me it looks as if some one pushed the pedal to the floor and waited for something to give, then drove the car around like that. I have to say that, because I don't believe it is possible to mill a crank down .058, if you shut the motor off right away as I had been told by the guy I bought it from.
So, I have not had a very good day! Not all bad though, some how, the block was saved! With a .030 overbore, it will be alright! When my Dad, my brother and I get done building it, it will have a dyno proven setup, 426HP and 459FT LB TQ. When it was new, it had some very rare options like: RS (with SS), AC, Black roof, Custom Hounds tooth interior, D80 (front & rear spoilers), tilt column, and a rear deck lid release button in the glove box (Dont know where that came from).
Well, I'm 17 now and the SS is not nearly as far along as I'd like.
I am very anxious to get the camaro running and driving. I am hoping to have all of the major body work done by mid April, but most likely it will be mid May.
I'm just crossing my fingers, and getting the work done right. If I don't get it done by the time I wish, so be it. It is better to have a well done car than to have just a car.

Prepping for some body work. Note the 2x4 laying across the engine compartment. It is holding the tranny up with a strap.
