OUR NEW TOY,

We welcome Elsie to our family. She is reunited with her younger sister Ruby (my '76 LX), and will require a bit of a tidy up but not too much. We started her up yesterday for the first time in 4 years, she blew a bit of smoke but the motor ran smooth. I am happy as hell, I even got to drive her for about a metre!!!!!!!Unfortunately there r no interior pics yet, ran out of battery DOH!!!!!!! but it is in brilliant original red, needs front seat re cover or replace. Needs carpet, door belts and I am sure a couple of new gaskets and bits. For $500.00 Hubby and I are real happy.

Ok update 4/10/05

Work has started, we have rear axel off and painted, inside floor treated and painted, rust cut out of body, purchased new muffler, about to paint under carriage.

We got approved for historic rego, happy about that. not far off road now.

I will update pics soon as I am going on night shift and will need something to keep me out of bed ready for midnight start.

Scored a motorbike to get the LX off the road to install 253, so work has quickened up on elsie so i can use her if the weather turns crappy and i dont want 2 ride bike 2 work at midnight.
only paid $550 for bike, Honda 350 1973 (yep old school again)

Update 9/2/05 (been a while)

Okay, lots has happened with elsie, new carpets r in. undercarrige is finished, new brake lines, pads, shocks, painted. Engine bay painted and motor being tidied up. Front seats back in, rear window removed and severe rust in parcel shelf below window lip. Luckily the edge where glass sits is pretty good so no major work required. Boot floor stripped ready for repair and paint. Door belts removed, need new ones but all other seals are useable. I reckon another month she should b on the road.
