This page is for the different parts and mods that have gone into this project. None of this stuff is high tech or high buck. I wanted to make this swap as simple and affordable as possible.
This is the 4.6 dohc as it came out of the Mark VIII. The aluminum block and heads are a big plus for this swap. In fact, the 4.6 dohc only weighs about 25 pounds more than the 2.5 that was in the Ranger (I actually put both engines on a scale).
Air intake setup
'85 Ranger auxiliary fuel tank installed
All the parts, '98 tank won't be used
Mark VIII fuel pump on aux tank pickup
Splicing the Mark's harness into the '98 Ranger's
Different angle
Relocated fuel door
'94 Mark VIII guages grafted into the Ranger cluster
At this point I'm calling the engine swap portion of the project complete. Everything is in it's place and the engine runs. Still have alot of other things to do to the truck. Should be enough to keep me busy all winter.
