This is my baby. Bought it in the summer of 2005 for 1100 bucks. No rust and in great shape inside and out. Since then, the whole drivetrain has been replaced. The steering, brakes, and suspension have also been modified (or completely replaced)
The pathetic stock 150hp 5.0L was replaced with a brand new 96 Explorer motor that recieved a comp cams XE264HR cam. Estimating at least 270 flywheel horsepower. Trans is a wide ratio AOD with a 2400 rpm stall converter. Stock aluminum driveshaft connect the trans to the 3.73's and a stock traction lock in the rear axle. Front suspension and brakes were upgraded from 11" single piston brakes to 2000 Crown vic 12.4" dual piston units. Rear got 95 Towncar 11" single piston disc brakes. Steering box has been replaced with a 2002 Police Interceptor unit for less assist and better ratio. The 430lb/in stock front springs have been swapped for hypercoil 1000lb/in units and are damped by Afco 1020 Street Stock shocks. Energy Suspension bushings replaced what was left of the stock rubber bushings in the frontend. Rear suspension is basically stock with replacement variable springs, 2000 F150 shocks, and a Police Interceptor 1" rear swaybar. New additions are Energy Suspension rear control arm bushings, a power steering cooler, and a trailer hitch (more for frame stiffening than towing)
Need to thank Scott (Lincolnmania @ GMN, CVN,&AOL) for doing the suspension and brakes since I'm too busy nowadays!
Suspension and brakes work great. It can get the 4500lb wagon around the autocross course rather quickly and can put a hurting on a lot of little sportscars. Proof of that is placing 27th out of 84 cars at the last autocross I attended with it. 6th place if you use the indexed times.
My 15 minutes of cardomain fame. Topride on cardomain for a short bit.
My helmet. Thanks to Tom at Tommy's Signs in Danville, Il for the airbrushing!

Your wagon looks beautiful and handles impressively. I watched your video before I picked up my wagon to see what a country squire looked like. The video doesn't do justice to the size of the thing.
