! ENJOY !
In the begining of ownership & enjoying the Mini life before Restoring & Customizing my ride.
In Canada Before parade
My mini in the middle of parade
After a summer of lots of fun & car shows
I decide it's time to personalize my ride.
So here we go R-E-S-T-O-R-E
Here is the suspension after replacing a few parts worn out then detailing with high temp engine paint for durability
Here is the back and front of the motor after degreasing.
Now the same pics after relacing all seals new lightened & ballanced flywheel, with total verto clutch replacement with ultra durance high temp clutch pack. This ride is super responsive and fast, need to dyno for true specs considering I have 1-3/4" su carb and upgraded air intake with k & N air filter, as well as 2-1/2" exhaust with dual dtm ports on mufler. sounds sweeeeet.
Now that all the mechanics are covered the engine bay cleanup begins pics below show engine bay before and after.
Engine bay is detailed now to the body work, old paint had spiderwebed and started to fade on roof, as well as rust needing removed. So I stripped the body took the grinder to the frame, wheel wells, and under body for a cleanup. Next is to acid etch, then primer etch for new paint and undercoating.
here are some pics after the primer job showing the trouble spots all smoothed out.
Door Sill welded in and smoothed out
Front sill seam was wavier than the atlantic ocean, all smoothed out metal working.
Some base coat pictures.
got my new wheels 12x7 ultralites
Time to get second coat of paint going.
this is realy taking shape, only thing is I got some runs so time to do more wet sanding and spot paint to touch up for final coat.
All done with spot paint and fixing body work that's not up to snuff so you'll se several shades before final coating as this be the first time i've done this kinda work, but all on my own in my garage is slow going because I can only work after my daily job hours & during the summer season.
The fender flares are temporarily fitted to get noching done.
A peek under the bonnet for more detail of motor
Now I have to do the final wet sanding and final coat of cany blue paint.
Interior all pulled together with Custom Wood Dash & tons of Burl Wallnut wood trim to match, The rest of my interior is all black leather with Cooper Cobra high back seats
More pics to come as I get more work done.
Check back next summer for finished project pictures
