This is my project:

This car was bought off of eBay for $710. It was described as having some fire damage to the interior and the door, fender, and mirror on the driver's side were destroyed. It's from Philidelphia, so there isn't a spec of rust on this car. Despite the damage, it is in great mechanical shape, and it also has the 2.5L V6 5-speed, which ia amazing after driving a quirky Pontiac Sunfire (atx, 2.4L twin cam) for a year.

Anyways, the pictures show the damage to the exterior, but I didn't think to take pictures of the fire damage on the inside. What
supposedly happened was:
The
woman (I don't think she's respectable enough to refer to her as that after the impression she gave me) I bought this from managed to back out of a parking space and not notice a POLE next to her, and didn't notice she hit it until it ground against the car from the driver's side door, up to the mirror,
popping it off, and then only when the pole progressed into the fender did she stop...

This is where the Japanese symbols were glued on.

This is the glue left over after prying them off (it came off with goo-gone)

And that brings us to the
fire damage. Apparently, the driver's side door didn't lock, and she had the car parked in storage (see the first 4 pictures). Well, she mentioned about 3 x-boyfriends when we spoke to her, she assumed one of them flicked a cigarette in her driver's seat. That burned a 10" hole damage both parts of the seat and burned to the floor. The carpet was ruined, the center console was partially melted, and the ENTIRE car was covered and soaked in soot. If you look at the first four pictures I put up, you'll see a dark color to the windows, which is the soot marinating my car.

The
woman was in tears when my fiance and I came to pick it up. She was about 30 years old, living with her mom, and didn't know a thing about her car (her mother was the one who listed it on eBay, answered all of our questions, set up the pick-up, and arranged the sale... she didn't even know how to sign the title over....).
She told us to "Please take care of my 'baby'". With all the crap she put on the car (the wierd tribal stickers on the windows to the ugly japanese wheel cover, to the stupid japanese characters
glued to the trunk) and the things she did to her vehicle, I'd hate to see a car owned by her that she hates. Enough of my ranting.
*All flaming over and done with*, I couldn't be happier to have this car. I am an Mx-6 enthusiast, and I loved the feel of the first gen (my fiance has a '91). I'm really glad I could rescue this car from bad hands, and also prove not all woman drivers are bad ;). The rims that came with the car are 16" chrome Enkei rims she said were from an x-boyfriend's Rx-7. They are pretty badly curb-rashed and I'll need to get new ones. As seen in the close-up above, the tires are also damaged.
After scrubbing all of the interior pieces and ordering new parts, the car looks great.
My car's entire interior in my garage.

And here's the pics of my car completely gutted.
This is going to be the cleanest '93 Mx6 Around. All of the air ducts behind the dash had to be scrubbed as well.

Thanks to www.mx6.com I could find the parts I needed to fix her up.

*UPDATE* And Here's Some Pics of the interior. The seats aren't reupholstered yet.
Me Driving on a Road Trip (yes, I'm a chick!)

The Tweeters and Vents in the Dash

The Speakers in the Back

I'll put my updated pics of the entire interior, and the carpet soon. When I took the pics I was on a 14 hour road trip and my deck stopped reading CD's after 20 minutes of playing (which is why there's wires hanging out of the slot). Luckily I got it exchanged later and it works great. It's an Acapulco Mp54 Blaupunkt deck (it cycles through 1000+ colors... I love it) and it matches my new interior. I also have 3-way Pioneer 5x7s, and my fiance's amp+sub.
*1989 Ford Probe GT* This is one of our other cars, we also have a 91 Mx6 LX
I'll have Pics of my Mx6.com decals on the side windows. If you're a fan of the mx6,probe, or 626, support mx6.com and buy a decal : mx6.com decals
