This has been a great project. I purchased my Bronco II from a wrecking yard in the fall of 2001. Began small projects like rebuilding the stock 2.8 and replacing the old and tired A4LD tranny. Began doing some suspension work. Built a 302 engine and C4 tranny. Found the guys at James Duff and bought two different suspension kits from them. Decided to run the larger Ford Explorer axles along with many other upgrades and hours under the hood and under the Bronco. The result is a rig that I can take almost anywhere I desire. It has been through much of Western Washington, Oregon, and Eastern Idaho. It's proved itself over and over and has been a great rig. I hope that I have some information on here that may be of use to you.
This is my B2 with my friend Aaron's B2 back before we built them. We just wanted rigs that would survive a Rexburg, ID winter. We never intended on building them up.
This is my friends now after a 6.5 inch Superlift and a 351W swap and 33" MTR's. It's a sick Bronco II.
I began with a James Duff Stage III 3" lift and 2 inch body. Duff bumpers front and rear, Arma Coated. 1979 Ford 302 bored .030 over. Edelbrock Performer intake with Edelbrock 650 avs carb. Crane Cam. MSD-offroad ignition and distributor and coil. Duff 4 core radiator. Rebuilt C-4. Duff driveline rear, modified front. Dana 35 front axle with warn hubs, 8.8 rear axle. Single 3 inch Magnaflow exhaust and Duff long-tube headers. Eclipse deck, rockford speakers and amps. 15x10 Pro-comp extreme 1079 wheels with goodyear 32x11.50 AT/S tires. Many other mods made, more of course to come.
UPDATE! TRUCK IS RUNNING AND RUNNING STRONG! The 302 turned out just the way I wanted it too. The C-4 was a great choice. Shifts awesome. In the process of cutting out the fenders and adding some Bushwacker flares. Not too excited to cut my fenders out but it must be done. Any feedback from any of you that have gone through with that process, I would be happy to receive any info you may have on that. Thanks!

Just purchased 35 x 12.50 Micky Thompson Baja Claws through 4 Wheel Parts in Tacoma. They have all sorts of good information and have a good supply of products on the spot. If you are ordering anything exclusively for Bronco II's then you may have to wait for shipping.
James Duff bumpers front and rear. Special thanks to the Guys at James Duff by the way. They have been a great help. Highly recomended for anyone working on Classic Broncos, Rangers and Bronco II's.
Dana 35 axle swapped from a 94 Ford Explorer. Aside from some front driveline modifications, this was an easy swap. Also swapped the rear axle to an 8.8 out of the same donor Explorer. This needed some work in order to fit. These axles are wider than the stock Bronco II axles so that must be taken into consideration. Only about 1 1/2 inches. Both axles have the original 3.73 gears and limited slip rear.
