BadAssStepSides's 1956 Chevrolet 3100

This is my 1956 Chevy 3100 Stepside.Me and my dad restored this truck about 4 or 5 years ago now and two years ago he gave it to me for my 16th Birthday(Ya hes the man). The truck was painted a BMW maroon and i really shines. The truck origonally had a spare tire on the driver side rear fender but we purchased a origonal 56 rear fender at a swap meet and changed it out, I think it looks 100 times better. As of right now it still has the origonal 235 Straight 6 but i have a 350 4 bolt main out of a 1980 Chevy Van. It was Hot tanked Bored and Honed 40 over with new cam berrings and brass freezeplugs and i also had the crank polished so it would be perfectly smooth. The truck also has a M21 Muncie 4 speed close ratio transmition with an aluminum case. The rear end is a 10 bolt out of a 51 chevy with 3:90 Gears but i will soon be swapping for a beefier 12 or 10 bolt with 3:73 or 3:90 ratio. We have also changed over to power brakes but it still retains drums at all 4 corners so i will also be adding disc's up front and possibly in the rear depending on the rear end. I will also be keeping the straight axle up front so i will be adding Mono leafsprings all the way around to give the truck a nice stance. The truck sits on mid 80's chevy rally wheels with custom center caps to match the paint, they also have 3" wide beauty rings that give them a little bit of shine. The grill and headlight bezzles along with the front bumper are all origonal, we had them rechromed and they came out really good. I also recently added seats out of a 300M. They are a light tan leather with power, Heat and Driver memory to remember the position of the seat, and they are fully functonal. They match the carpet and they look pretty badass. Well heres some pictures of my pride and joy.

This is the first 350 i picked up, I got it for free from a buddy it came out of a 1978 corvette and i was told it was the origonal engine. I was also told it had 10:1 compression pistons a comp cam and 202 heads but uppon further tear down the engine did have the pistons and the cam but the heads were 170cc off of a 1968-1970 chevy. The cylinder walls were also pretty scored and a coupple main berrings were spent so the crank has some pretty narly scars in it so i decided to put this engine in storage for a later project and search for another block. My friend at the local junkyard hooked me up with the 1980 chevy block that just had the crank and pistons and cam and lifters. It was pretty clean and i got it for 100 bucks. It didnt sit around for long i ripped it apart on a sunday and it was at the machine shop on monday so ill take pictures when i get it back.

Thats pretty much all the pictures i have now but ill get pictures of the new engine soon and of the truck before restoration so stay posted.
