this vehicle was saved from the crusher to become my new project. there is already 2 new fenders and a new hood ready to go on the vehicle.both rear quarters will have the sheet metal replaced and the vehicle will receive a new paint job. the new color will be mazda burnt orange metalflake. there are exactly 0 subaru loyales with that color paint in this part of the world. i am open to suggestions, i have a spare ej22t powerplant with aftermarket intercooler lying in the basement.should i keep the stock 1.8L or should i spice things up.leave me a comment if you like.I decided to leave her stock for now.05 has come and gone, got the rear fenderwells done. The next thing is to fill in all the holes where the moulding used to be to get her ready for the paint. Keep tuned as the saga continues. As of march'06 I found another loyale for parts but this one has a complete 4x4 system that functions, now I will transferall the components to the big bomber, stay tuned. All of the components were added as well as a new clutch, she went back together perfectly and the system functions perfectly except for the 4x4 button on the shifter. I will have to think something upto replace the stock button, anybody got any suggestions?Latest entry, 2006/06/17, managed to replace both right side doors with ones from the donor car, she will soon be ready for the paint, stay tuned as the saga continues. Finally got my mags back from sandblasting, they are epoxy primered for now, you may have noticed they don't come from a Subaru, they are from a Peugeot 505 but they will fit nicely due to the fact that they are the only other rims with a 140mm between the bolt holes. On page 4 you will see the doors that were donated from the same car that donated the 4x4 system. I am finally getting close to completing the project thanks in great part to my good friend Mike.As of 1 july she was brought home to finish the project in my garage, the finishing putty is slowly being applied to get her ready for the paint. Stay tuned. As of the end of July I have decided to fill in the channels on the body to make for a nice smooth exterior, I think she will look much better this way. Let me know what you guys and girls think.UPDATE AS OF 4 OCT.2006
Passed the mechanical and pollution test on the first run. Finally plated and driving the old girl, runs smooth as silk. Please allow me to introduce a new member of my family, she is called BigBertha, she is a 1988 Kenworth T600, with a Cummins big cam4 and she is rated at 475hp, with 15 gears and 3.90diffs and 24.5 tires she is quick, comparitively. At least she is faster than the new computer controlled trucks, hope you all enjoy to see her.
