1938 Chevy 3/4ton Truck
The start of my father's wild dream....
It all started back in 1989 when my father and mother found a 1938 chevy 4 door sedan. It was built from the ground up with help of my uncle and many friends and family members. The car was build to do one thing.......DRIVE and enjoy the road and country side. Oh did I not mention its not stock, it a street rod, that means is has a late model front and rear end and a fuel injection engine with it being update inside and out.
Well it now 1996 or so and we are at a show and they find a 1938 chevy truck long bed, and they began thinking it would be nice to have, and this one was different from the car because it ran and was all stock! Straight 6 (3 speed) so we drove it home on the highway (60mph), not too bad. Now it was 1999-2000 and my father and I begain talking about street rodding it for my mother to drive around town, nothing to big or small. Change the front end and rear end and engine swap.
Well its 2002 and as you are about to see it did not happen as we had planned, it is turrning out much better then we hoped and my mother is still looking for the 1938 chevy truck to drive around town in. (All the work you are about to see is done by one man in a small shop in Aroma Park, IL east of Kankakee) Kirks Rod Shop.
**UPDATE!! 1-1-11 Truck is painted and being assambled**

Hi Greg and welcome to cardomain ! Swweet project ! The thing that I prefer in that truck is the engine ! I've never seen an engine like this one. How many seconds does it take to do the 0-60 with such an engine ? Come to see the Oldsmobile ninety-eight Regency of 1975 that I own with my grandfather. It has a 455 ci V8 under the hood. Tell me what you thinK. See ya.Grieg (from France)

Wow, that is one sweet truck. Doesn't even need paint and it's sweet. And that engine, wow. That will haul. Should be sweet when it gets painted. Definately a head turner.
