Well, I've got the best girlfriend a guy could ask for! She got me some tube bed rails for my truck! I will have some pics up very soon. I must say, it really helped the look of the truck. I am going to be getting my windows tinted pretty deep soon, probably in a couple of months. I will have pics with the new rails soon!

Above, I will simply update my page when I start a new project for my truck. Below, I'd like to start off with the truck's history.
I bought the vehicle in the summer of 2005 for just a hair over $4,000. Just about a year ago, actually. The engine had been replaced 56,000 miles prior to my purchase, and the transmission a mere 500 miles prior. The body was straight, and had been repainted. Unfortunately, it had 237,000 miles on it. The truck didn't look bad, but I hated the wheels and tires on it.
It originally had a 5.7L in it, and of course a GM Crate 5.7L replacement engine replaced it. The stereo was crap, the person who had the truck before me cut two huge holes in the back panels behind the seat and inserted two 6x9 speakers. A decent idea, but they weren't sealed, and since they were pointed toward each other the bass sound waved canceled eachother out.
So, I got my license on November 1st, and began my quest for upgrades. I first replaced the wheels and tires on December 29th, 2005. Here are two pictures of the original wheels, and a stock picture of what I replaced them with.
As you can see, there is quite a difference! I went from a 15" aluminum wheel, to a 20" Chrome wheel. I wrapped the American Racing wheels with Kumho Ecksta STX tires. They have held up very well, to say the least.
Well, after the wheels, I decided my sound system needed some attention. I would like to remind you, I have been paying for these upgrades. I live on a tobacco farm in Kentucky, I'm not that 17 year-old kid that has everything handed to him by his parents...I've worked very hard for the money to pay for these things...don't think I am doing these upgrades with someone elses cash!
Anyway, I replaced the old Pioneer Head Unit with an Alpine CDA-9856. I replaced all four speakers with Kenwood 4x6s. I also threw in an Alpine 10" Type R Subwoofer, and a 500watt Kenwood Amplifier. I had a kitchen cabinet maker help me out with my box, it turned out very well! I should have made the dimensions a bit different, though. I would like to make another box that is a bit wider, and a little thinner. It would allow the sub to stay farther away from the back of my seat. That would probably increase the life span of the sub, and allow me to scoot back a bit as well!
You can find some shots of my interior and audio system on Page 3.
I am going to begin using Page 1 of my site as a kind of "Truck Blog" I will just talk about future mods, and completed mods here. That way my page can stay somewhat organized.
As for future mods, one of the main things is that I need to tint my windows. I'm not sure if I want to keep them legal or not, though. 35% is the legal limit I believe, but I know how good a 15% tint looks...
I also plan on purchasing bed rails (the tubular ones). With the bed rails on the truck, it would really pull the chrome wheels together with the new front end that should be completed within the next month or so.
If you have any ideas for my truck, feel free to post them on my guestbook, also, please comment on my truck! Go on to Page 2 for some nice exterior shots of my first truck!
