This is my other car and also my first car. It took a year of searching to find the big-block and four-speed combo that I wanted, but I think it paid off. It's a 1970 Plymouth 'cuda. Under the hood is a 383 Super Commando. It runs fairly well for having the standard 'cuda engine with hardly anything modified. This 'cuda also has quite a few options like: a front elasometric bumper, road lamps, hood pins, Magnum 500 wheels, rally dash with tach and 150mph speedo, and front disc brakes. It came from the dealership (not the factory) with rear window louvres. They were absent at the time of purchase and quickly added along with the correct rear spoiler. Hopefully some day it will be absolutely flawless, but don't worry I'll still drive it!
Yeah the grille isn't supposed to be black but argent silver...oh well. This is a good shot of the hood pins, elasometric bumper, and road lamps.
Here's a newer pic. Note the rear window louvres and correct rear spoiler. You can also kinda see the brown interior that no one likes. I'm keeping it that way. Honestly, how many 'cudas do you see with brown interior?
In case you didn't read what's under the 'cuda's hood. I still can't believe how many people ask what engine it has after seeing it in person! It seems obvious when there's a "hockey stick" running from the door to a number at the end. As with the louvres and spoiler, these were not on my car from the factory. This is one of the few instances that I don't care about originality. The "hockey sticks" belong on this car!
And here is said 383. I love all the orange. Currently it has wrinkle-black valve covers and a matching aircleaner. It's going back to the way it is seen here. By the way, that DieHard did just that.
The 'cuda's arse when we first got it. Note the incorrect, Mustang-style rear spoiler. That has since been remedied. Eventually a new chrome bumper will be replacing that painted one that wasn't even an option on a white '70. The parking brake has been fixed too...and we got a new door on the garage.
I can't really think of anything to say about this picture. Hey look! It's the passenger side.
Yeah it's not perfect, but it's mine! MINE MINE MINE!
It all makes sense when you look at this damn thing for which the car was named...
So far I haven't done much to deviate from stock. It's not going to stay that way, but it won't be easily seen. Here's what little I've done so far:
-K&N Filter
-Mopar Performance Electronic Ignition
-Mopar Performance Valve Covers
-Mopar Performance factory style black wrinkle air cleaner
-Accel 8mm plug wires
-Accel Super Stock Coil
-Centerforce Dual Friction clutch (it ate the cheap replacement)
