I bought this car in 1987 as a senior in high school for $1400, it ran 16 seconds in the 1/4,After driving it winter and summer for 3 years I started building as the budget permited,After several engines trannys etc, I have a low budget combo togther now that propels the car to a best Et of 10.92@122 MPH On the juice and 11.66@114 on the motor in good air,Car runs 12.00-12.teens thru the exhust on most days and with the NOS it is a street killer,It is powered by 455 .30 over W/C heads th400 tranny 3 1/2 drive shaft,TMI lower and upper control arms,12 bolt chevy rear with 3.73 gears ,Moser Cclips and axles,Sumped stock tank,Areomotive fuel pump and regulater,15X8.5 Centerlines with 12.50X28 MT STreet tires,Hooser slicks 28x10,8 point competion engineering roll bar kit,RCI harness,B&M shifter,Autometer cages,K&N filter,Aluminum radiator,cars weighs in with driver at right at 4000lbs.
I ran the car in what I call true street trim,Exhust on,Power steering,Full interoir,Street tires you get the picture...........It went 11.64@117MPH in this form,It has more in it since the bolttle was cold and all ready had sevral passes taken on it!!!!!!!!!!! Also the new hood doesnt have a a air pan on it,It is all open under the cowl which shoud be good for a tenth or more......The new motor should make this car scream!
