Well, any of you coming here through my main page should wonder little at why I have recently purchased this little thing. 45 mpg of goodness, that's why! And all without the whole economy car stigma (Prius, *blech*). And I was just so lucky to pick up this firecracker after the SOHC VTEC was swapped in. The 1.6 coupled with the S tranny = gas savings for me suckers. And all without sacrificing entertainment too.
For the S model, it sure is a blast to drive, fast too. Though I rightly attribute most of that to the 1.6. I need to add some sway bars, a better CAI and a 2" catback... oh, and I NEED to install a cruise. The 300 mile round-trippers I take to see friends are beginning to kill my hamstrings. *Whimper* plus the rear disc and all. Now you may be saying that this isn't worth it, that I should just go get an Si. Yeah, maybe, but what I saved intially and what I save on insurance being only an S model will more than make up for it over time.
I definitely need some new wheels too. Alas now that I have this new ride I'm torn between my first love (the Ram) and this newcomer. Decisions, decisions. Again, as I stated on the Ram page, "as the money comes in." Which is pretty dang slowly at this point. Apparently no one wants to hire post grads these days. *Shrugs* Oh well, have patience every one. I plan to work my magic on this little girl just as much as the Ram... just AFTER the Ram is all.
Some stuff is already taken care of. Mainly the 1.6L swap first of all. The 3" dropcoils were a pleasant surprise too, as well as the Alpine head coupled with the four Infinity Reference speakers /tweeters. Which is good since I don't really care that much about audio and never would've done it myself.
But I easily see a turbo down the road, with all that I'm hearing/reading about the versatility of the D blocks. I look forward to it... and all while getting 40+ mpg. Take that you greedy oil companies!
I'll be sure to update as it happens. Seeya.
