After wheels and mods...

bansheenut420's 1992 Dodge Daytona After "stage one" stuff. Built motor, head and s70 crap ass turbo... My not wanting to get a new turbo after getting it rebuild for WAY more than it was worth with the "s70 upgrade" (GNx turbine and compressor wheels) was the biggest waste of time I have done with this car. The turbo had horrible lag for such a small turbo, and unsatisfactory top end. It was a huge disapointment. Luckily, the 4 puck clutch didnt last long. Once the car went down for a clutch replacement. I started bugging one of my buddies to make me a custom downpipe with an external wastegate dump. It worked out excellent as you can see in the pics below...

Great looking car. I just joined to post this comment. I was looking for some pics of IROCs and stumbled onto your page. What do you know about the PVP Pilot cars? I'd be interested to learn more about them. A good friend of mine used to own the first 92 Daytona Pilot car made. He bought it off a used car lot in Wisconsin in 97 and traided his 89 4-cylinder Mustang for it. There was a plaque in the engine comp just like yours although it didn't say R/T. His was the 3.0V6. I told him to call Galen Govier(a Mopar #'s guy) who confirmed that the car was the first one made. It was white with white wheels, 3.0V6, 5-speed, factory CD player and red leather interior. He drove the car for a few years until 5th gear went out of it. He sold the car to another one of our friends who drove it for another year but never fixed 5th gear. He ended up selling the car and we lost track of it. The last time we saw it...it was for sale on Ebay. By that time it was pretty rusty. I'm sure it has been crushed by now.

Outstanding setup man! I was lucky to befriend a Datona Shelby owner in high school. In my eyes they were the start of all the turbo tuning to the cars of today. Thanks for sharing, this was a plesure... 5 stars..
