Hello every one,

I have bought this 69 Dodge Dart Western Sport Special about a year and some months ago and have been restoring it. I just finished monta vista high school in cupertino. And i had more free time and finaly got close to finishing up the dart. It is running. But still needs some stuff to be done

I bought it with a non running slant 6 225. I wanted to give it a lil more power so I decided to put in a 318. So far I have put in all new steering, suspention, tie rods, pitman arm, gear box, sway bar, ball joints, brakes (including all the small parts inside like all the springs and washers and everything) ,wheel cylinders, shocks, and the 318 engine. Here are the pictures of the things that are done with the dart. Right now all i have left to do is, do the body work and paint the car because it still needs that to be done, and also to redo the front seat because it has a couple of big tears in it. Besides that the dart is looking pretty good. I painted the 318 engine and put it back in. I got a dual flowmaster exhaust with dual chamber race mufflers. Sounds really nice. In the engine bay i took out the old mechanical fan and converted it to a electic fan, that gave me a little more room in the engine bay area. I also added a after market tach because the dart did not come with one. Also added a after market radio, but i want to change it out because i do not like how this one works. I will be doing the body work not too long from now. I will post pictures later of the body work when i get started on it.

hey lenny. well i haven't put it in yet. To my knowledge all i have to do is find a different fly wheel for it, the tranny is a 727 and should hook right up to the 340. but once i get it in i will try to give ya all the information. Matt

hey thanks for the post. To tell you the truth i have no idea how fast my car would be on the quarter mile. The motor is pretty finicky. All i can say is it wouldn't be a fast time. I hope that helps out a little.

Matt
p.s. Thats why i bought a 340 :)
