well here goes a second try...
here is the heart dropping remains of fe3 #1 (mazda)

Swapped over JE 8.5-1 forged pistons from fe3 #1
Swapped over pickup tube and aluminum pan(small modification needed) from fe3 #1,also shimmed kia oil pump spring 3mm.
Here is where I sealed up the SCE copper gasket on the mazda block at the oil pressure fitting with an O-ring. you can see the hole is recessed to fit an o-ring, but on the kia block it is different, not sure what to do yet, may use inserts from a kia gasket and cut the copper one so they fit.

Sealing copper head gasket with a thin bead of high temp red sealer, made sure not to overlap wih the coppercoat
