heres the engine layout: the block itself is a 4 bolt main 350, bored .030/ eagle forged 400 crank/ 400 fly wheel/ forged pistons & con rods/ double roller timing set/ cat pep 1.5 full roller aluminum rockers/ no air conditioning(any more) / edelbrock performer rpm aluminum 64cc heads/ edelbrock performer rpm #7102 hydraulic lifter cam 234 &244(112 lobe sep., you can imagine what that sounds like...)/ powermaster gear reduction mini starter/ 14x3" k&n air filter/ and a few dress up items. the 383 i bought as a turn key crate thru www.enginefactory.com.. scanned pics of the first 305 TBI and 383 crate swap are posted on pg 7.

this is what the 383 looked like berfore the start of my overhaul on the front end. originally it came with chrome valve covers & t-stat housing i later changed to get rid of extra heat that it traps in. all though chrome is great for show, it seems to be the worst thing for heat disipation. ive got a pic of all the chrome stuff the crate came with on pg 7:

other mods: spohn performance torque arm with cross member & front driveshaft loop/ aluminum driveshaft/ dual core northern aluminum radiator/ lakewood rear traction arms/ lakewood adjustable panhard rod/ hotchkis subframe connectors/ msd 6AL/ msd 8.5mm plug wires/ edelbrock headers with tubular exhaust kit to a 3in flowmaster force II catback kit/ 30 series flowmaster muffler has one 3in inlet and one 3in outlet/ optima red top battery/ mallory high output billet hei distributor/ march under drive pulleys/ the rear seats and belts are removed for soon to come 8 pnt roll cage/ & theres more on the next couple of pages/ the diff(pg5) is fully rebuilt and has an auburn posi, yukon gear 3:73, superior forged alloy axles, spohn performance 1" rear drag sway bar, and TA aluminum diff cover and girdle support along with new timkin bearings and new seals.
