Getting ready to install the new Kenwood XXV-04S speaker set once the new alternator is installed. This install is going to take some time. For now, we are going to make a custom bracket and get these bad boys installed. In time, the door will be replaced with a custom fiberglass door that will showcase the speakers in it's prime state. Until then, some pics of the woofer in the component set:
The picture to the left is the Ford speaker compaired to the Kenwood woofer. On the right, a good show between the magnet sizes. The Kenwood weights in at almost triple the weight and that's without the crossover and tweeter.

Close up of the spider. This Kenwood series really took everything top notch. The build is superior. Can't wait to hear them!

After some time and tons of sketches, we find a simple way to mount the new speakers. The tweeter is installed right next to the window to provide un-obstructed sound. The woofer is installed in the factory location. A 1/2 piece of wood is cut for the mounting bracket. The wood also acts as a spacer, keeping the woofer from hitting the window. It's a tight fit, but it works. A factory look is pulled off.

In the future we will custom build a fiberglass door that will house the woofer in a "show" position along with the crossover. Being that this will take us a while to do, the speakers are just left in it's sort of "factory" position. The speakers sound great and are truly worth every penny.
Now let's take a look at the Slim Line Subs by Blaupunkt. These 10" subs run 200 RMS and peak at 600 watts. To show everyone the size of these subs, I compaired some shots with an EB Edge card which is the same size of a regular credit or debit card.

A look at the side shows that this sub has a lot of technology thrown in such a small space. It's almost amazing that these type of subs actually exist.

And the final shot of the sub for now is the rear. You can see the vent, and the heavy frame to hold this sub together.

To install these subs will take some time. As the the same as with the fiberglass door, it's for the future. Once the project is completed I will post pictures. Looking at the fiberglass amp rack and subwoofer box, I am sure that the door and slim sub installs will be as if not more impressive so stay tuned!
