As the layout is getting finalized, it was time to start the fiber glassing side of things. We have to have something for the fiber to work on, so let's lay down the cloth.

Once the cloth is in place and all the excess it pulled tightly, it's time to start the long and tedious process of applying, then sanding. BTW, resin is messy.

After many hours, the sub and amp rack is starting to take on formation. It requires many man hours to make a smooth finish that can be paintable later.

Well it's nice that we have the top of the system in the works, but what about that wheel well? We need to make that our much needed air supply. The center bolt to hold the spare is removed and the well get's covered in foil. After the foil is pulled as tight as possible, fiberglass is applied in layers to make our hard shell that can be removed and attached to the rack later.

As things progress and most of the fiberglassing is coming to a completion, the SUV gets a complete layer of BeQuiet Brown Bread applied. The interior is completely removed to apply a solid layer of the dampening material throughout the entire shell of the SUV including the doors. (Hi Harry, thanks for the help!)

After the fiberglass work is completed, it's time to style the box. Original intensions were to paint the box. However, due to time limitations a vynl job was done with some carpeting.

Before dropping the new custom box into the SUV, it's easier to prep the wires for an easier install later. Wires for the amps are drilled out and siliconed in place to be hooked up after the install.

Some even more back breaking work to install the box, it finally sits in place. The vynl came out decent for a first time job. The color difference is exaggerated in the picture. The vynl matches the interior well. The box will be pulled out, resanded and painted in the near future now that time has allowed to do so.

With all the new hardware, a means of controlling what goes on was needed. AudioControl Three.1 takes care of everything for now. It's the EQ and controller for the Diamond and PG amps.
