I had bought my first 626 the first year they came out, 1979. Sold it a little more than a year later for a "family car", a 1981 Chrysler LeBaron. So when this one showed up on Ebay and it was close by, I had to have it. Well maybe not that desparately but I was hoping. So 7 days of watching the auction finally paid off and for $125 it was mine. It's a little rough in spots but for a 1982 with 177K miles on it, it's not bad at all. So now the project begins. Awesome engine, a 2.0 liter, 75 hp, 4cyl with a 2bbl carb. Lookout land speed records! Amazing thing is that most of the systems are all working, power windows, mirrors, radio has been changed out, and with the exception of the back seat, the interior cleaned up very well. One of the prizes I found when cleaning it out was the original window sticker from the dealership listing the origianl sticker price, and options. Funny thing was the mileage info showed the price of gas in 1982 as $1.65 a gallon. Plans, hard to say, first just get it road worthy then we'll go from there. Stay tuned.
