Well, here is M0NA! Got her March 2002 a 1997 Australian model (yep, we have that one here!) with only 37,000 KM on the clock. She is GOOD TO GO!

MORE TUNING! Well I have now put in 550 CC injectors as the stock 260's were maxing out at WOT - 99%, now I have the ability to boost! Unfortunately it is, right into 10 PSI... and it should only be at 6, so while I have to get the mapping correct I am also going to have to find out what is going on with this... hope it is not the downpipe design stopping the waste gate from opening fully. We shall see!

Ok, exhaust wrap is done, down pipe is painted, cross over pipe is painted and the next step will be to design and install the intercooler. For that I need some work done at the welders - changing the inlet pipe size to the core from 1.25" to 2" and putting on the mounting points. Hope to get that done next month.

Exhaust is in - great job I am very happy with it. The tune is going well but I have a long way to go. Other things is the exhaust wrap to be done this weekend.
October 2006: The turbo is IN!
Getting the new exhaust system built and installed, heat wrapping the down pipe and working on the tuning. No standard maps so I am doing it by hand to start with! For the turbo install see pages from page 20, for the tuning see from pages 22.
August 2006: Working on installing the turbo now! See pages 20 and up for pics and descriptions.
July 2006: Wow, looks like it has been for ever since I updated this. So what new changes? I have discovered that I have ripped the bushing out of the OEM end link on the right rear, and have ordered new adjustable endlinks to repair that - photos when I get them in. Also I have FINALLY got the turbo - a Garrett GT2506R (AKA GT28R) and I am making/buying all the parts to put it in. Pics as I get them but check pages after 18.
August 2005: Just discovered two broken front sway bar mounting brackets. Looks like the autocross we did broke them. Oh well, now we have Mazda Speed competition mounts on the way. Check page 18 for a write up of the installation process.
June 2005: FM Rear Shock Mounts installed. Smurple Baby! Couple of hours work and in they go - easier than I had expected. Now I hope that the ride will be better.
May 2005: FM Link ECU is now in and the process of tuning it has begun. Early figures give a 157HP at 6,500ish RPM and 137 Lbs of torque at 4,500 RPM. So, I have a lot of work to do!
May 2005: Greddy Full Auto Turbo Timer to be installed and the FM Link replacement ECU is on its way to be installed this month. More info will follow!
April 2005: Hood scoops are in, and boy that was some work! Anyhow, the delivery guy has just dropped off my new Hard Dog Hard Core Hard Top Roll bar! Man, that thing is, um, hard! Install went reasonably well, from 4pm to 11pm to get all but the rear bracing and the final cuts in the trim done.
April 2005: Well, it has been a long time since I updated the pages! My latest project is to install hood scoops that are both functional and nice to look at.
June 2004: Added a Boost / Pressure gauge, a 'Phantom' from Autometer. Another nice addition on my continuing quest for FI! Hookup was easy - check page 10 for installation info.
June 2004: Added an Air / Fuel gauge from Autometer. Nice addition on the work up to the turbo version. Had some probs early on getting the hook up correct - make sure you connect to the actual O2 sensor wire and not to the shielding!
March 2004: All lights are now shaved of the ugly raised text. Looking good! Oil pressure sender and gage now installed.
March 2004: Ok, so I can't keep my hands to myself! I have just, with a little help with my internet friends, installed a starter button! Great fun install, and surprisingly easy with just a few tools and the help of the 'net. See page 8 for information. Next mods are:
1. Change of stock ECU to LINK
2. Installation of a real oil pressure sender and gage.
Feb 2004: Well the new pics are up of the bodywork changes - slightly more flared front and rear fenders - but only a little. Have to look closely to see it! The new exhaust is on - and the Cat is gone - replaced by a "test" pipe and the silence or Barrel is a 'Magna Flow'. Sound is quite robust and distinctive. I am also now getting ready to change the ECM but am having some real problems! Anyhow, enjoy.
Jan 2004: Well had a bit of a bump in the car last year and have just got it back on the road. Took the time to mod the fairings over the wheels to take account of the 16" rims and lowered suspension (photos to follow soon). In addition I have now put a "test pipe" in place of the cat, and a magnaflow exhaust to a 2.5" pipe. Slowly I will be moving the entire exhaust to 2.5" - but that will come later!
More updates... I have now added new Racing Dynamics black powder coated wheels, gone from 14" stock to 16" with Kumo ESCDA Supra 712s. Not sure if I like the tires yet, so I may change back to Toyos, possibly the RA1s. Added a Jackson Racing Cold Air Induction system and it has made a difference to the sound from the front... have to do something about the sound from the back soon! Added Manacore wires and platinum 4 prong plugs.
So far I have changed the tires to Toyo T1-S's on stock 14" rims, put in a new stereo with a 6 pack changer in the boot, and with no drilling may I add, moved up the timing to 16 BTDC and put in a front grill to protect the radiator from small stones.
