The install took 4 months in total and included a complete rebuild of the interior and an oval shaped wall . It has been designed to compete in Pro 1 SPL competitions in the UK where the class limit is 350 sq in. The install was done by SQ Plus in Manchester , England ( www.sqplus.com ). This company is also responsible for my brothers VW Golf which you can see at http://members.cardomain.com/hammer

hammer's 1998 BMW 3-SeriesThis shot of the rear of the car shows 5 of the 6 Xtant amps . 3 are 1001x class d amps ( there's another under the rack ) and the other 2 are 404m's . You can also see 2 x 6.4 inch screens together with the Parolia VHS player . Just out of view is the pinhole camera used when reversing and the Xtant XIS2.5 co-axials built into a custom panel onto the rear of the tailgate .
hammer's 1998 BMW 3-SeriesAnother view of the amps , etc with the screens showing the video on the right and the Dreamcast on the left . Underneath the amp rack houses the system batteries , Rockford EPX2 , video switching system and 4 Accumatches . The whole area is trimmed in Alcantara .
hammer's 1998 BMW 3-SeriesThe sub wall is sort of half-egg shaped , was made from MDF and fibreglass , is approx 2.5 inches thick all round and houses 4 Xtant X210 subs in a ported enclosure . All 4 subs and their ports are focused to a central point between the seats . Also in view are the Xtant XIS2.6 rear-fill speakers and the Dreamcast .
hammer's 1998 BMW 3-SeriesA second view of the wall - when it was almost finished . In this shot you can also see the 2 x 8 inch Xtant A series subs in sealed enclosures behind each seat , and the system control switches in the centre .
hammer's 1998 BMW 3-SeriesThis first shot of the interior shows the Rockford head unit , RDAT controller , Dreamcast controller plugs and 11 inch monitor built where the glove box used to be . What isn't visible is the laptop PC under the passenger footwell . Again this whole area was trimmed in Alcantara .
hammer's 1998 BMW 3-SeriesYou can now see the rest of the interior , including the laptop and 5.6 inch headrest monitors . The seats have been retrimmed in red and dark gray Alcantara , and the car also has a Momo Millenium steering wheel and gear-knob . The doors have been completely re-built and now house Xtant XSC2.6 components with X-overs on show .
hammer's 1998 BMW 3-SeriesThis side view of the car shows the 11 inch screen built into the dash , and another 11 inch monitor built into the side window ( there is another one on the other side ) , which is showing a Powerpoint presentaton of the install and it's equipment .
hammer's 1998 BMW 3-SeriesThis pic of the roof shows the flip down roof screen which can show a picture from either the video or the Dreamcast , but when reverse gear is engaged it automatically switches the picture to the pinhole camera installed in the tailgate . The roof is now approx 3.5 inches thick and also houses the display lighting for the wall .
hammer's 1998 BMW 3-SeriesThis final pic of the cars exterior shows the podium which is used in SPL runs . It plugs into an IP68 connector which has been fitted inside the fuel filler cap . The podium houses another Rockford head unit and RDAT , but this time the RDAT has had the screen re-located to the top of the podium . You can also see the 18 inch Radius rims that the car now sits on .

Thanks must also go out to my brother , Andy and good mates Craig and Brian for the effort and hours they put in . Most of all to Phil and Neil at SQ Plus for once again having the skills and ability to do yet another top install .
