I just put a 1.7 D series engine in my 2005 Dodge Neon SRT-4. I got 4 speeding tickets so my parents made me replace the engine with a regular 4-cylinder. Out of my choices was a 2.0 SOHC Dodge Neon Engine, A 1.7 liter Vtec engine, a 1989 Mazda 323 engine or a 1988 Toyota Corolla FX. I chose the Honda engine due to its reliability record. So Now I drive a 2005 SRT-4 with a 115 hp engine. It feels so sluggish, especially on hills where I always have to put it out of overdrive (alo got the Honda's auto 4-speed) just to get it up hills at 65 MPH. This one lady was driving like 70 MPH up a hill in a 1965 Beetle and I couldn't even keep up. She was probably turboed or something. Anyway, I went to the track and they said I ran a 19.2 in the 1/4th. That's not too bad. I just wish that I could swap out the 4-speed automatic for Honda's new 5-speed automatic. I bet that would get me into the 18s.
