This is a custom install that I had done myself on my Esprit. I had been piecing together systems for about a dozen years, but this was the first time I went out and bought the whole system right from the get-go. I had an Alpine deck converted to amber illumination, which then runs out MTX installer series interconnects to a AudioControl Three.1. The three.1 is a dash mount unit that I used in the trunk due to lack of space. I swapped out the crossover freqs with my install shop to get the best results from the EQ. From the EQ 4 channels go to a PPI 450 (4x50w) which then go to MB Quart 6.5 midbass drivers behind the seats, and MB Quart 4 inch coax up front with separate x-overs. The tweeters in these speakers are removable so they can be placed anywhere, but for the sake of not cutting up the car, I left them as co-ax's. For the sub, I have an Alpine Flex2 50x2 amp running to a bazooka tube which houses a 6 inch MTX woofer. There is no interior space in the Lotus, so my sub options were A) in the trunk behind the motor which wouldnt be heard, B) removing the spare tire up front (didn't want to do that) or C) in the passenger compartment either at the end of the passenger footwell (custom fiberglass enclosure) or a tube that runs in front of the seat. The tube was the best solution, but the Bazooka driver just didnt cut it. An MTX sub in the tube actually works quite well.Exterior of vehicle.Apline CD in dash, Bazooka sub enclosure with MTX driver mounted in front of passenger seat.In-dash style EQ which is trunk mounted.
