This is a very nice SQ setup I assembled to compete in IASCA in Mexico. My car is a 1998 Peugeot 306 (berlina version, not the hatchback). The system is as follows:
- Clarion HXD10 headunit
- Orion DEQ30 30 band eq
- JL Audio 300/2 for Dynaudio MD160 midbass
- JL Audio 300/4 2 channels used for modified Dyn X360 crossovers and MD100 and MD140
- JL Audio 500/1 for a single Image Dynamics IDQ12 v2D4 (in a 1.00 cu ft sealed box firing backwards)
My future plans are to add a rear fill and possibly a center channel (that's where my two extra outputs of the 300/4 come into play), and to change my headunit for a Pioneer DEX-P9 to fully utilize the digital capabilities of the Orion DEQ30. But then again, I might get tempted and go for the DEQ-P9 too, so I would be scraping the DEQ30 alltogether. We will see.
If you want to know how to turn your X360 crossover into a X360a (for bi-amping) drop me a note I will give you the explanation. It is REALLY simple.
I have gotten a 2nd place and a 1st place in Ama 601+ in the two IASCA comps down here. So everything is going as expected.
I recently enclosed the MW160 (midbass) drivers in a .30 cu ft sealed box in my doors. It was quite a mod, and now the door is heavy as hell. But believe me, it was worth it. I am almost rid of the "sub in the back" problem.
