INTERIOR MODIFICATIONS

Stock, RAIF was burdened with the hard to keep clean silver interior, so I made some changes!
A black carpet swap was the first thing!

Lets start up front and work our way back…
If you notice there is no silver or grey of any kind left on the dash! Its all been repainted black!

PLEXI-GLASS GAUGE COVER
****************************************

No is not digital, it just looks that way.

It is actually custom cut smoked Plexiglas. I cut up the old dash & laid in the Plexiglas. I edged it with a red satin cord.

GAUGE CLUSTER

One thing you don't see done often, the gauge cluster is no longer the textured stock grey? We actually smoothed it and painted it gloss black! Here are 2 great side shots showing the reflection.

Most of the red accents are hand painted.

AUXILLARY GAUGES
****************************************

Stock the car came only with idiot lights, so I added Auto Meter gauges for extra assurance! The oil, volts, and temp gauges are housed in a 3 pod A pillar gauge holder by Auto Meter.

CARBON FIBER
****************************************

Did you notice that the A/C cover is the same smoked plexi. Also the radio and center console plates were carbon fiber?

Its a bit hard to tell, but sweet, eh? This was custom made out of carbon fiber. No kit here! Going to sand it down a bit to remove the cloudiness and paint over it with transparent Candy Apple red.

Now another thing I did to the center console and radio pod...they have been painted black.

I actually added an additional console to the car...an overhead one!

SEATS

Now the seats...They were the turning point for my interior facelift!

The seats are my new PMD seats. These are typically 1982 only seats. I personally recovered them with Hawk's 3rd gen Parts' seat covers made of Hampton Vinyl. They have the look and feel of Leather!

As you can, I have decided to go with a bold red and black combo to compliment the exterior.

I bet you also noticed the red seat belts.

They came out of a 92 Camaro. My old ones were very nasty from 15 years of use. So I used my accent color when I replaced them.

Once the seats were in, I finished the look by changing the whole interior to red & black.

RED & BLACK INTERIOR PANELS
****************************************

I replaced the silver interior pieces with black out of another 3rd generation f-body. To further tie with the red and black seats, I covered portions of the new black panels with the very same red Hampton vinyl that my seats were made of.

Let's start with the doors...normally not that interesting, but...

Here you can really see the red Hampton vinyl insert. These door panels seemed like they were made for this look! I used black satin cord to finish the edges of the vinyl.

The rear cargo panels also received the same treatment.


You can see the black panels with the red Hampton vinyl inserts through out the cargo area, again with the black piping framing its border to the black panels.

It the same as on the custom floormats.

NEON

Yep, I have neon lights...

I only have neon tubes under the seats now and in the rear compartment. These are pics with my old interior, but you get the idea!
