Basically I want to try and get some power out of this car without spending a lot, only until I have registered my other car which will be a more performance-conscious build, and then I will put a more mild, fuel efficient and streetable motor back into this car.
Immediate Plans:
The car came with a Red 202 that ran quite poorly, but after rebuilding the distributor and carbie, and fitting extractors and a new 2-1/4" sports exhaust, I did a compression test and realised that it was reasonably healthy, so far I've just been bolting on go-fast goodies and it's doing a pretty good job. If I blow it up, no big loss as it didn't cost me anything to build.

I was given a Redline Torker II inlet manifold which looked a bit sorry, so I sanded it smooth and polished it up by hand, took a while but I think it looks grouse. This Impco 1&20 300A gas mixer was also a freebie, and they are rated to flow over 200HP so it is more than adequate for my needs. I paid $30 for an old 350 Holley that I am only using the base of as a two-barrel throttle body (this flows about twice as much as as the original Stromberg carburetter!), I made and bought adapter plates to attach the Impco mixer on the throttle body, and bought a new alloy top Aussie B2 converter.

I picked up a second hand XU-1 cam with matching lifters and double valve springs, so I'll throw that in as well, along with a Yella Terra 9-Port head with big ports, valves & adjustable rockers, along with some other hi-po stuff
Eventual plans:
Later on, I plan on using another healthy 202 I have, with some modifications, as a motor that will perform well through the mid-range and still achieve good fuel economy
* Late model 202 12-Port head, decked with cleaned up ports (aiming for 10.5:1 Comp)
* VK EFI 202 Inlet manifold, or custom sheet metal replica (long runners & extractor clearance)
* VK EFI 202 Extractors, modified to suit the Torana floorpan (small & well shaped primaries, great mid-range)
* Mild straight-LPG camshaft
* Late model HEI Electronic Distributor, rebuilt & recurved to suit camshaft
* 2" Exhaust
This is just a set of spark plugs (one range colder than standard) and 'GASLEAD' HEI ignition leads for the new motor:
