I was minding my own business looking for a good used Vette, my good friend sold me a Miata at a great price when I wasnt lookin! (Boy am I glad, Thanks Larry)
Day 1, just arrived home

Paint condition not good, also, some white paint xfer.

Ater EG (Elbow grease)

Paint not too good, and baby teeth must go

LOTS of elbow grease.

Some surface rust on hardware and badly oxidized, Miata lived in Oceanside, whaadayuexpect?

After EG, note! the Red is still original!

Tires, uh huh

After Fisk Phantoms, not a bad tire

After Chrome hollow spokes, Dunlops, UGH!

Falken Azenis, Awsome!

Dirty engine compartment

Need top yet, at least in SoCal its not important!

4 hours after arriving home, first bath and wax, in fact, I have cleaned/polished/waxed/rubbed her over 60 times in 10 months by hand...Clay bar'd a few times also! (thanks for the hints Phylly) Miatas just want to be shiny!

Big difference eh?
Is that paint still WET?!

I must confess that I putz around with the car alot, I have done all the work myself. My wife is very tolerant of my time spent in the garage, and with me washing loads of "car towels" constantly. I bought Miata from the original owner at 49k and the car had good history and alot of potential for improvement. I decided up front that I will try to restore the original paint, instead of a repaint, it was very badly oxidized from the ocean. I received alot of advice, worked it slow and by hand, (now I have a buffer, Thanks Pete!)
I am not finished yet, it can always be better but its starting to look better than most of the daily drivers! I want to be carefull that I do no upgrades that will make me afraid to drive it, as any Miata driver will confess, they beg to be driven and the harder the better.
I autocross in SanDiego and drive alot with the 2 clubs we belong with. (sandiegomiataclub.org and socalm.org)
And the supercharger? well, if you like to be out front at a green light..its NO PROBLEM! unofficial, 0-60 shade over 6, 50-70 in just under 4 Zoom Zoom!
Currently have 63k miles.
