Bunches of Miata's queue'n up, none had forced induction, about 1 percent of our club is FI.
Jackson Racing provided email support to help me make this a reality, thanks much!
This sequence shows the SuperCharger installation.
Boxes of parts picked up from James who has a stunning black now with AVO turbo.
Aux Fuel Reg.
Replace all Hoses and belts
Extend the wiring, Solder everything.
Pull the Throttle body, it moves to other side
Put the ICS on the new dummy Throttle body, the screws are VERY tight..sorry for the blurry pix.
Dummy Throttle body installed
Make good electrical connections, solder and shrink everything.
Elbow in place, throttle cable rerouted, PowerSteering brackets reconfigured, header bracket installed, JR did a great job here!.
Make sure your throttle cable is perfect..its not something you can easily adjust later, I had to pull the airbox and meter to make an adjustment.
Put your ThrottleBody on the Charger, high temp high quality gasket material is the rule of the day.
Hang the Charger..what a sight!
Bend the brake cables GENTLY out of the way, rubberize the bottom one to eliminate vibration and rubbing.
Airbox, Airmeter...Tight fit, but it fits just like they say
The finished product. Polished pressure manifold and xover Pipe.
Lastly the BIPES ACU has gone in, AWSOME box, I just built the external temp sensor (for $14) circuit because I use the 15k resister 'trick' and the Bipes cannot see the miata stock temp sensor. Oh you actually want to SEE it? (sorry, will take another pic soon)
Amazing what you can do with a photo editor eh?
In fact, this is not even my hand, or, my car, I do not advocate breaking any speed laws, or tire speed ratings, even for a quick picture.
One should "never" drive this fast on streets, unless it happens to be the streets of Willow. Thank goodness for photoshop! ;-)
Friday night Car-Show at Tuxies in Riverside CA, everyone likes a supercharger, even while surrounded by hundreds of awsome American classics.
I didnt win any trophies but had a good time anyway.
New and old, both were hand polished,
From Jackson Racing website, mine looks better no?
Lets try the new JR Hat on for size
California smog report before the SC installed (passed)
California 'test only' smog report from after the supercharger was installed.(passed) Thanks Oscar for making such a great kit.
What one does as soon as you come home from the smog station,
RESET THE TIMING BACK TO 14! and turn your BIPES box back on!! :-)
It does come off Howard..it does!
Whats next? sheesh, noticed the other day that my SC pulley is too big :-)
Good thing too, cause the UPS man just dropped off a smaller one!
So, let me tell you...size does matter! Also, lets change the plastic idlers for the metal units, 1 down, 1 to go
Got em both now, howz that for spacing?
This is the belt I use, after trimming 1 rib off the side, I couldnt buy a 51 inch 4 rib belt, (510K4), no problem. 510K5 belt number = 51.0 inches, 5 rib. If you need a 50 inch belt, then..500K5, 50.5 would be 505K5, get it? Remember to trim off 1 rib with a sharp razor knife. You can also get a 510K6 and trim off 2 of the 6 ribs.
