jmarsh's 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse

This is the newest picture of the car. This was taken right after the new intercooler was installed. This is in front of Elite Audio.

As you can see from this picture, the new intercooler is a LOT larger than the previous. Im not gonna say what is coming...but it must be serious to warrant a larger FMIC!!!

While all the intercooler piping was being replaced, I thought it a good time to polish the "elbow" shown here. Since this was originally a cast piece, it took a while, but came out fairly well.

This is what things look like behind the Supra tail lights. As you can see, everything was done with metal...not just a bunch of Bondo....
Joe is cutting out a small notch for the back-up camera that was recently installed. There is a "key hole" in the Supra lights, which needed to be filled. We are working on where to put the monitor(s) right now.

This is the beginnings of the new sub box. As you can see, it seems as though we are planning on running 5 subs. There are 2 seperate sub enclosures. The first holds the single woofer in the bottom. The other 4 subs will be in a second common chamber.

Once we had the sub box the way we liked it, fleece was stretched over the whole thing. Where the fleece meets the mounting rings, it was stapled to the wood. Where the fleece goes out of the car, the rubber trunk gasket was used to hold the fleece in place while the fiberglass resin was appled. This shows the basic shape of what the sub enclosure will look like when its finished.

This is what the sub enclosure looks like in the car. This is obviously before the subs are mounted. You will notice 2 interesting things. 1, there are black squares in each sub opening. These help break up standing waves within the sub box. 2, the speaker wires come throught the screw holes. We did this so there were not additional holes in the box.

This is what the sub box looks like with subs in it. There are still a few things to do...liek finish witing the subs, and make some aluminum rings to go around the subs.
