Welcome to MODIFIEDESPRIT.COM
A Site about
A DAILY DRIVEN, OFTEN DIRTY, ALWAYS FAST, MODIFIED, BLACK 1990 LOTUS ESPRIT TURBO SE

This Car Domain page has been around for a long while and it has gotten too long. It was originally intended to be a quick picture site and blog of my Lotus Esprit SE ownership experience, but it got out of hand as I had a lot of free time in 2005 and early 2006 to work on this. I am designing a new website about my Modified 90 SE Esprit within the next month, probably during the Thanksgiving holiday. At that time this will become the archived site. You can access the new site by going to my domain: WWW.ModifiedEsprit.com . If the link takes you back here, then it is not up yet! In the meantime- Here is the update:
UPDATE (02-28-10): Pictures from the Southern Califonia to Arizona road trip mentioned below. These were taken at the George Patton museum.

UPDATE (12-28-09):
Decided to put some faces with this car. Below is a picture of me by the car taken earlier this year at the farm behind my old home. The other is of my kids in front of the car at our new home. The kid pic was taken upon my return from a road trip to and from Southern Cali to Phoenix, Arizona, so the car is filthy.

UPDATE (04-07-09):
The week before last I had vinyl work done to promote my business. It looks stunning and defineately gets attention. The artwork on the rear hatch glass solved my "Do I remove it or leave it alone" dilemna.
I took the Esprit on a long road trip last weekend and she was a champ. The alternator is loose and I will tackle tightening that up this afternoon or late tonight. The car now has over 74,000 miles.
UPDATE (03-01-09):
The Espirt has hit 73,000 miles and has never driven better. I have been running the #6 chip. I love the PUK +5% clutch. Very easy to modulate and holds the power. The only thing I need to do is adjust the wastegate and put my other set of tires on and detail the car. I have spoken with a graphic artist and we are going to design a wrap or something in vinyl to promote my business and modernize the color scheme of my car a bit.
UPDATE (02-12-09):
Just got my Esprit back from Viking Motorsports. The PUK +25% clutch is butter. Hardly any effort at all! It has less pressure than my last stock clutch, which is nice since I got caught up in a little bit of Orange County Traffic on the ride home. (Anyone familiar with the 91 freeway will know what I am talking about!) I haven't been able to really drive the car hard, so I will take her for a spin and really open her up tomorrow. For the record I drove most the time on the # 2chip but put it on #6 about 15 miles from my house. I am going to rproperly reset the chip tomorrow so by the end of the weekend will have a good report.....unless of course it rains.
UPDATE (02-05-09):
My clutch finally arrived from Germany a few days ago. The flywheel is looking bad, so I have JAE's custom clutch going in that has the bolt patterns that make it compatibale for both the SE, S4 clutch as well as the S4s clutch. Harry should have the flywheel and flywheel bolts tomorrow. He is also going to finish the turbo gasket replaement project that I started. It seems like I should have my car next week sometime. Which is great since it started raining today but should be excellent weather next week for some top off motoring.
UPDATE (02-01-09):
I can't believe it has been 365 days since I last updated this thing! Well the car is in the shop getting a new +25% PUK clutch put in to handle the #5 and #6 chips. I orderd the part years ago (auctually a month ago) and DHL is taking their sweet time delivering it to Harry. And I paid for PREMIUM shipping from Germany too! When I get the car back I will have it detailed and take pictures of it, because after that I am probably going to have some vinyl work done on the car to promote my business and it won't look as clean as it does now. But you have to admit, the Esprit will be a great marketing car!
UPDATE (02-02-08):
My car hit 70,000 miles on January 30, 2008. I had to put a cat to pass smog. She runs beautifully and I have been driving her daily. I even drove her in the middle of a freak snow storm two weeks ago going up the Cajon Pass in the High Desert of California! (I actually got snowed in and had to stay the night!) She did well in the snow.
I also put my other set of tires on. They are Dunlop SP's in a 2045/50/16. The 45 series looks better but where I live is rural and some roads are bad,so I appreciate the slight increase in sidewall "cushion".
UPDATE (11-09-07):
Mods and Tweaks
My car is now perfect in the way of performance. I have finished up my mods in the last few months, and the ones not yet documented here are a custom turbo from Majestic Turbo in Waco, Texas (they tweaked the original modified one), adjusted wastegate (free mod!), NO cat (just about a free mod!), reprogrammed stock chip (Thanks SANJ! You are a stud!) and PUK 35 mm Wheel spacers. I am currently running the #6 Red Race chip and the #4 310-BHP chip on my chip switch.
#6 Red Race Chip
I love the chip switch from Marcus over in Germany and Sanj who programmed it for me. It allows me to change the chips I run. It is not on the fly since the car has to “learn” the new chip and set its parameters, but since I drive a lot, I can often run two chips within a day. The #6 Red Race chip is how The Lotus Esprit SE should have left the factory. It is rated at 330 horses for an S4s, so it is probably a bit less than that on my car, or maybe about right since I have no Cat and other mods. Though I occasionally miss the "all-hell-breaks-loose-at-3,000-RPMs" turbo lag of the stock program, I love how this chip just pulls. I can finally feel the 104 cams because with the #6 chip, I feel the power coming on strong lower in the rev range. Of course there is still lag, but it is not the frustration it could be. 3rd and 4th gears are a joy, and 5th can actually be used now to pass safely a lot more often. I love how it maintains transient boost at 1.1- 1.2 bar so I can really boogie or pass up a long line of cars! If you have uprated injectors (I do!) a BOV (I do!), then I would get this chip (I do!) It is totally streetable, so don't be put off by the Red Race moniker.
#2, #3 and #4 Chips
Before jumping straight to the #6 chip, I was running the 2-4 chips. I will do a more detailed write up on these for my new website, and for Marcus and Sanj- but let me give you quick feedback on these chips.
#2- Smooth as butter. More linear power delivery. Honestly, almost feels slower than stock until you see the speedometer and how many cars you just blew by!
#3- The car finally has some torque! But I missed the high end power. Not anywhere as bad as a diesel feel, but you get the picture. Though that example is an exageration, it does run out of lungs higher in the rev range because the extra torque down low already got it into the powerband. Still, I love revving the engine and seeing top end power as well, so personally this chip doesn't move me as much.
#4- The best of #2 and #3, a great everyday chip.
PUK 35 mm Wheel Spacers
Another pre-S4 Esprit owner sold these to me because he was upgrading to 18" wheels or custom wheels or something like that if I recall. I lucked out because I had already had plans to get them from Marcus at PUK , we had even talked about it. I really wish I would have taken pictures of these wheel spacers before I installed them as they are a work of art! The added rear width adds more grip, but honestly, I LOVE the way it looks now! It fits the fenders better and gives it a more beefy stance from every angle, especially from the 3/4 view and the rear. If you have an Esprit, get these!
V8 Esprit
I have not yet driven a V8, but I will soon. I really want to buy another Esprit- this time a V8. And not in Black! I think that winter is the best time to buy them as the prices on sports cars are generally better during the winter months, so I may start my search now. Plus, as of late the prices on 97+ Esprits have been phenomenal! I can actually afford to run and own two at the same time!
Interior and exterior freshening
The car is really driven and it is starting to show. I am undecided whether to paint it Chrome Orange or Lime Green or have it vinyl wrapped to promote by new business. The interior is now where I will be putting my focus. New speakers, Leatherique and a DVD player to go with the rear view camera.
Also, my rear view mirror broke and I have been driving without it for a month now. With the Sport 300 wing and the rear hatch glass, the rear view mirror was not totally useless, but just about.
Original Content
This is the Lotus Esprit that I finally purchased after looking around for 6 months and passing on two newer ones with some real serious mechanical or structural concerns. I bought it in Dallas,Texas and drove it home to Southern California. All I needed was to buy two new rear tires and off we went.

WHY DID I BUY AN SE?
I really wanted a yellow S4 or S4s, with Black and Red as secondary colors. The car I bought is a Black 1990 Lotus Esprit SE. The reasons I thought I bought it are two fold: money and mods. (The real reason I bought it came to me when I saw the movie "The Secret" found at thesecret.tv . If you want to know the whole story, e-mail me or sign the guest book and I will let you know how it really came about!) I wanted a clean car to modify myself, so I know I wanted an intercooled Esprit. Though I went and got a loan to buy a V8, I wanted a car I could buy for cash, hold the pink slip to and have money to throw at it for mods, maintenance, etc. I have limits of what I can take from the piggy bank without much grief from the wife, and when I started this project last year, my wife and I agreed on a budget of $50,000 or less.
The SE has everything the S4 does as far as performance, minus the brakes, a bit better handling (less understeer), and ABS. I liked the updated "bumpers" on the S4 and later Esprits more than the SE. I don't care about the lack of power steering. I didn't even notice it 1 week after owning the car anyway. And I would rather not have the first gen ABS the SE's and later Esprits got. I heard they are problematic. I am not the best driver in the world, but I don't need ABS for everyday driving. Plus I live in Southern California. I don't drive in the rain and we don't get snow. But what about the "older" look of the SE. Well, one of my favorite cars is the Sport 300 in black. So since I don't have the newer style bumpers and lights of the 94+ Esprits, I will just make my car look like a Sport 300. And believe it or not, I prefer the older interior to the newer ones. It looks more classic British. One thing about my car that I don't care much for is the rear glass canopy. It will be gone eventually.
UPDATE (3-19-07): On Saturday I was running around and my wife called me on the celly and asked me to pick up a 52" ceilng fan since we recently remodeled our home and added some more bedrooms for the kiddies. The car was already dirty, so I said; "What the hey!" So here you have it, an Esprit is even useful enough to do an HD run!
UPDATE (2-22-07): I have been running the #1 chip. It feels slow after running the #2 the last few days. But..I can feel the increase in mid-range with the 104 cam pulleys more on this chip than on the #2 chip. I forgot to mention that I also moved up to the Porterfield RS4 street/race pads on my Esprit. I guess I better add that to my mods list...
UPDATE (2-20-07): Got my car back today from Harry and drove it about 100 miles so far on the #2 chip. I feel a bit more mid-range punch from the 104 pulleys (I have them both) but I can't say anything about the low end. It comes a bit more alive just under 3K, but nothing drastic. I am not sure how much is wanting to fee the difference and how much is actual improved performance, but I do feel a bit more mid-range for sure. Maybe once I move up on to the higher chips on my switch (#3 and #6) that have more torque, I am hoping that the laggy feeling will be reduced. I know its not a V8, so I am happy with the performance. Anyhow, the car runs beautifully. I will run #2 for a week or so, then I will move on to the higher torque chips. I had Harry and Manuel drive the car three times before I picked her up to get her nice and ready for my flogging. It feels weird not to have anymore mods on the horizon. I will now be working on the interior. And on acquiring my next toy.
PS- Harry was awesome. Dannie from Kansans was there at Viking as well and the three of us just chatted for about a half hour about all things Loti and Esprits. Man, the Esprit community is a cool place to be. I invite you to get an Esprit and join the fun!
UPDATE (2-2-07): Harry said he will be buttoning her up on Monday. So far everything looks under control. Also I am now seriously onto my next car. (No the Esprit is not going anywhere!) I am pretty much decided on one of my faves from my Jr. High days- a Lamborghini Jalpa. I need to do more investigation and drive one, but the car is a beauty and I can afford to buy and maintain one within the same budget that was allotted for my Esprit. Yeah, it is very 80's looking and won't be as fast as my SE, but it will still rock! C'mon, its a Lambo.
And if the one I pick up does not have a rear spoiler, I will add the Countach one! Seeing that Jalpas are rarer than Esprits, I don't think it is going to be as easy a search.
UPDATE (2-1-07): Harry has her again. The gasket on the turbo is wasted, thus the check engine light and bad idle. I am having Harry tackle that and rebuild the water pump and put in the 104 Green Dot cams. I hope to be flogging her next week!
UPDATE (1-06-07): Spent a good part of Thursday cruising around in the Esprit running errands. Check Engine light on. I need to get the water pump replaced and wanted to get the 104 cams, so I probably will ship her over to Harry...AGAIN....
I wanted to finally do the bodywork and have her painted. I went to my favorite paint shop that does sweet award winning work on hot rods and classic cars and the owner sold the business before Thanksgiving. Now I am on the hunt again for a proper shop to paint the Esprit. The final decision is to paint her Orange. I don't know if it will be the Esprit V8 orange, the Elise Orange or the Lamborghini Orange as found on the Diablo 6.0. I am personally leaning toward the latter one. I am going to Orange County (no pun intended) next week to actually look at an example of each of these in the flesh and I will figure out then which one I will do. Once of course the proper shop is located...
UPDATE (10-19-06): The car has been sitting in the garage of my office for about a month. I fire her up and drive her every week or so to keep the car well lubricated. I started a new business venture that I am excited about and have decided that I won't drive my car until I reach a certain goal associated with the new business. It is a self-incentive if you will. Anyhow, I should be back to driving her daily along with my new car by the end of November. Also, in the winter or early spring she is going to go under the knife and will come out looking great in her new ORANGE skin, the color of a Diablo 6.0. The wheels will be pushed out in the back, the rear hatch glass gone and the mesh will be painted black to pop off the paint. The carpet inside will also be changed to black. I am still undecided about the seats, I am thinking about upgrading to some MOMO units or reskinning the stock ones. Keep coming here and I will keep you posted!
**In a non Lotus note- I picked up a clean Cadillac Catera for a song and she has been playing the role of the beater. Not a bad car for a Caddy! Pretty tight and decent handling. I am still undecided on the XJR or the E55 AMG, which will become my daily driver along with the Esprit and will also be bought once I reach my self-imposed goal. Anyhow, let me get back to work so I can drive my ESPRIT!**
UPDATE (07-16-06): In an attempt to not blow up my turbo a third time, I have been staying with the #2 and #3 chip programs for now as I make sure that my car is running well. The #2 chip did not feel as fast at first to me as the stock SE software because of its linearity in power delivery as opposed to that whack you get at 3K RPMs with the stock program, but a look at my speedo showed me that I was going 90 MPH before I even knew it. The more I drove the car I realized that the car was indeed faster than stock. I jumped up to the #3 chip on Friday and put about 60 miles on it on Saturday. The extra torque is great, but it seems to run out of lungs in the 6000 RPM range. I love the torque, but I also love to rev, so today I switched back to the #2 program. I really love this chip switch that Marcus has created and so far is worth the quids to get it. It lets me play with the different programs. I am happy and I haven't even touched prorams 0,1,4,5,6, or 7! I plan to stay away from the #5 and #6 chips until after summer when the 100+ degree F. cool down. (I live near Palm Springs.) I'll run #7 when I take the car to the track. With the electric chargecooler pump, the upgraded injectors and turbo, I am confident that my car could handle the #7 program when I hit the track.
In an unrelated note I am finally starting to shop for the next toy. I am between a Ferrari 348 and a Viper. Two very different cars Iknow, but both within my price range and cars I really like. If it were not for the fact that I am due to get another family car (I am undecided between a Rover or a G500-The less I spend on this vehicle, the more I get to spend on my sports car toys!) I would be in a higher price range for the next toy. So a 348 or a Viper is going to join the Esprit sooner or later. If I had not decided to keep the Esprit, I would possibly be in the hunt for a Diablo. But from all my investigations, Diablos are not reliable. I think the maintenance would not be in my budget either! 348s are not as reliable as Vipers from what I have seen, but they can be driven everyday. This is what I am looking for. I will keep you guys posted on how this goes.
UPDATE (07-10-06): I dropped in upgraded T3/TB04 upgraded turbo I had done by Majestic Turbo and the chip swith and had the car towed to Harry do a once over on the car and put on my new RC Engineering secondary injectors and the Sport 300 spoiler. I got the car back when I got back from vacation on the 6th. The car died while having promotional vinyl for my business put on it, and after I had it towed home I found out it was a bad connection to the starter. She is now running the #4 chip and all I can say is that she is faster but feels a bit slower because of the smooth power delivery and lack of 3K stumble. I will drop down to the #3 and when I am comfortable with everything, will probably go to the #6 chip program. So far so good! And the front end got really mordenized with the low Sport 300 spoiler. I now don't feel like I want to upgrade the front end, besides finally putting on my front front clear Euro lamps.
The Front end looks all business with the Sport 300 lip spoiler.
I took this pic at Viking. The BLING was unintentional.
Anothe pic taken at Harry's.
A comparison of my rear Sport 300 Spoiler and glassback with a red 97 with upgraded 2002 exhaust. The glassback with my wing looks my car look top heavy and has to go!
UPDATE (06-15-06): I added Matt's 98 which is for sale, on page 10. Confirmed with Majestic Turbo that my turbo has been shipped. I can't wait.....!
UPDATE (06-14-06): I blew up the turbo for the second time, so I had Kevin and John at Mejestic turbo rebuild and upgrade the turbo for me. It is a T3 with a T-04B that will sustain up to 375 HP. It should allow me to run the #6 and #7 with no problem. I also ordered the chip swith from Sanj who got it from Marcus for me. Everything should be in and up and running in the next two weeks. Oh yeah, I am also going to be ordering secondary injectors..
UPDATE (04-17-06): I really ran my car with the #6 chip in it today. WOW! Torque! Torque! Torque! Pulls in every gear, starting at about 3K. The chip still seems a little shy on fourth gear. Tomorrow I plan on doing a 150 mile round trip down to San Diego for business. It will be very fun! I can't believe this is the same car! It does feel like I am up there closer to 330 HP and tons more torque. I can only imagine how driving a modified V8 must feel! (That is my next Esprit project!)
Well, now that I have driven my #6 chip all I know is that now I must attend a driving school so that my skill can come closer to that of my car's. I also need to upgrade the brakes, and I need to get a Valentine One Radar detector or I will be going to jail!
My car being towed back to Harry to troubleshoot the Limp Home Mode problem.
Harry presents my newly modified Esprit to me...
UPDATE (04-16-06): I have been out of town (in Provo and Salt Lake City Utah) for a few weeks on business and vacation and have not updated this BLOG. So here is the synopsis: My friend Gabe and I put in the new turbo but the car was running erratically and throwing a fault code. I put freescan on it and drove it, but did not have time to figure out why it was dog slow. It would not boost. I took it to Harry at Viking and it turns out the car was in "LIMP HOME MODE" because of a fault in the wiring harness. I got the car back from Harry the same day I left for the Rocky Mountains and could not really put her through her paces as I drove the 70 miles home in Orange County and Riverside (Southern California) traffic. When I got close to home I did open her up a bit and she feels really fast. I still need to let the new #6 chip learn the car as I did not really have a chance to go through all the gears and the let the chip "learn" its perameters. The car went from the shop to the garage. When I get back tomorrow I plan to drive her a bit, but on Tuesday I should have time to really put some miles on her and let her do her thing. I will keep you all posted. This week I will also put on my front clear lights, put on my Red MOMO pedals and put on the new Esprit logo on the back and the old LOUS logo on the front left side lower bumper.
I did a trade with Dermot O'Hare from England as he came stateside last week. He brougt me two Sport 300 rubbef lips and I got him some RC Engineering secondary injectors. I did not get to meet Dermot as I had planned as he was in the Bay Area while I was in Salt Lake, but I am either going to pick them up in the next couple of weeks, or I am going to have Mark W. ship them to me. (Dermot left them with Mark. Thanks Dermot! Thanks Mark!)
I hope to have some really awesome pics up next week when the car is all buttoned up and washed and waxed.
UPDATE (03-27-06): This is what has happened in a nutshell: Picked up my car, broke my turbo, put on chrome wheels while the turbo was sent to be rebuilt. Put the turbo back on 2 days ago, and am letting the new chip learn my car. The new BOV sounds great! The car is running a bit weird, may need some other items.
UPDATE (03-13-06): Was to pick up my car from Harry on Friday, but the rain and traffic held me up and I could not make it to the shop on time. Harry had my car for a week to diagnose a flashing CHECK ENGINE light. I had not had this problem befoe and Harry says it is just some electrical problem in the harness as the car runs fine. He and Lotus Meister Dave will fix it when I take my car back again. I am picking up my car today and putting on the clear lights, chrome rims, and MOMO pedals. I am adding some pictures to page 5. When your car is gone for a month, you have more time to surf the internet and find cool pics of your marquee.
UPDATE (03-06-06): My Lotus Pal,Roy, former president of the Golden Gate Lotus Club sent me a pic of his sweet anniversary edition. I put it page 5.
UPDATE (03-06-06): Got my wheels blinged and ordered Lotus Center caps from JAE. I just need my car to put them on!
UPDATE (02-27-06): I went to Sector 111's Grand Opening on Saturday. Sector 111 is a Lotus Elise/Exige and Pontiac Solstice shop in Temecula, CA. I did not have my car back from Harry so I went "STAG". (Harry was there and he told me my car is going well and that the BOV install looks really nice. He couldn't promise me I'd have my car back by this week though!) I took some pics of 3 of the 4 Esprits that showed up, Gordonie's famous V8, Carl's Orange V8, and Jeremy's Sport 350. Brad and his red S4s took off before I could snap pics of his ride. I am now realizing that there is a certain "etiquette" regarding car shows with exotic cars. If you are the owner of one, it is "frowned" upon to take pics of other peoples' cars. You are just supposed to hang out and be "cool". I put pics up of these cars under car shows and added pics of other Esprits, especially racy ones. I guess since I can't drive my car, I have more time to download pics of other cars. Today is now two weeks that my Esprit has been at Viking. This is a picture as of last Monday when I went to drop off my BOV and Blitz Turbo Timer and Blitz Digital Boost Guage. harry had just put in the new timing belt:
UPDATE (02-20-06): I finally got everything. Am taking it over to Harry this morning and hoping he can have it back to me by Friday so I can make the Sector 111 (A Lotus Elise shop close to my home) grand opening Lotus meet.
These are the goodie:, Blitz Turbo timer and digital boost guage, clear Eruo lights (I will intall these myself-duh!), GReddy Type-RS BOV, and the accompanying flange.
UPDATE (02-19-06): Got my clear front indicators today from Marcus at PUK. I have everything shipped to my business mail address and the guys are starting to wonder about all the items that have come from Europe(floor mats, clear lights, Side sill decals, etc.). Harry told me today that I just have to cry a few more nights before I get my car back! My BOV and Flange from Slowboy Racing should be here today as well via UPS.
UPDATE (02-14-06): I took my car to Harry of Viking Motorsports. The car is going to essentially be getting a C Service. I am having the Cam Tower leak addressed, and while he is already in there, I am having all the belts replaced. I am also having the chargecooler upgraded to the WC Engineering's electic pump to provide a constant rate of intercooling independent of revs. Other items that Harry will tackle are: speedo fixed, chip#6, turbo timer, electronic boost guage, various small fixes (A/C, heat, tighten body to chassis, etc.)
UPDATE (02-09-06): I am getting very serious with this Esprit. I just passed up on a sweet red 88 Esprit with 12K miles! But at least I have not been idle with the one I have:
Today I dropped off a set of my SE wheels to get chromed. It'll take two weeks.
I got my electric charge cooler pump from John W. today.
I ordered clear front indicator lenses on Monday.
I got Black Lotus mats on Wednesday, they got dirty within 5 minutes.
I got red Momo pedals last Friday.
I got Chrome ESPRIT decals for the door sills on Wednesday.
I have decided to get a GReddy BOV instead of the HKS. I just want to be different, and I love the GReddy sound. Both are great units and since I wont be boosting more than 1.25 BAR, either unit is more than adequet.
I am ordering my Sport 300 lip tomorrow.
I am going to install an HKS turbo timer instead of my Apexi because it has a digital boost guage. I will be putting my never installed Apex i on Ebay.
I plan on getting my rear glass off FOR SURE in the next month or so. With the new exhaust and my awesome wing, the glass detracts from the car making it look a bit dated as opposed to looking modern. I guess if you are not an Esprit fan it wouldn't bother you...but it does me!
UPDATE (02-06-06): The new exhaust is up and running. What can I say? SNAP CRACKLE POP. At WOT I start wondering, "Why do I even have an Alpine CD player for?"* Actually, looking at the picture to the left I now realize that I have to get that rear glass taken off again and the body work done to the rear hatch to bring it up to 9.3+ specs, the glass does not compliment the Sport 300/S4s wing. Oh yeah, and a 95+ rear plynth will help too. (But without the V8 badge..duh!)
UPDATE (02-03-06): My muffler man-Louie-started the muffler work but won't wrap it up until tomorrow. Lots of nice Mandrel bends, it will be nice looking. Especially with the rolled maganflow tips.
UPDATE (02-02-06): I forgot to mention that I put in a new red top Optima. The other one was dirty and got drained while I was out of town. I went to Autozone and asked them to swap it for a new one. They wanted me to come back after they recharged it, but I said, "Hey Look I have a free replacement warranty on this bad boy. Don't make me come back, yada yada." They swapped it out for me right there and then.
Yesterday I asked my muffler guy to order Magnaflow tips for my dual exhaust Magnaflow setup. I am hoping to have my new muffler finally on this weekend. I also found a hotrod body shop to do the rear glass delete for me at a reasonable price. Last week I ordered new floor mats, Chrome Esprit Decals for the side sills, and Red Momo pedal covers. I will be ordering clear front indicators from Marcus and an electric chargecooler pump from John Welch if he has any in. I am trying to decide what BOV to put into my car. The car goes back to Harry next week for the BOV install, electric chargecooler pump install, safety, chip install, and to fix the speedo and install the Apex'i turbo timer. WHEW. I should have a very bitchin' car by the end of February. Jared's S4s was also sold thanks to my post on the Turbo Esprit Yahoo! group and the pictures on this sight.
UPDATE (01-25-06): I am changing things a bit here. I am adding a page for racing/Esprit stories, adding pictures of another Esprit for sale, and adding pictures of other people's Esprits. A few days ago, I spoke with a friend of my dad's who has a 00 Esprit that Claudius has done some mods to. Also, Jared, the Previous Owner (PO) from which I bought my Esprit, is selling his current Esprit, a red S4s. Pictures of these cars were added today.
UPDATE (01-24-06): I raced an idiot today in a Celica GTS. When I was about to pass him he jumped in front of me. What an idiot! The real idiot was me, however, for indulging in street racing.
UPDATE (01-23-06): I have decided against the Viper. The goal now is to get a red 1988 Esprit to accompany my current black one. The red Esprit will be stock, the Black one tricked out. The daily driver is to be the 2000 Jaguar XJR.
